Electric Art Project (Puerto Rican Flag)
For our benchmark project we decided to light up a Puerto Rican flag. Our idea was inspired by the hurricane that happened a few months ago that left the island of Puerto Rico with no electricity by us lighting this flag we are representing hope to those families without light and to the island as a whole. The background idea for this project really hits close to home and means alot to us. For us to use our knowledge of physics to make lights turn on really inspires us because it shows that when we come across disasters like that, our knowledge is power. For our flag we created a circuit that has light bulbs both in a series and in parallel, in order to have each bulb’s brightness equally strong. We came across many challenges with connecting the wires successfully to where they belonged in order to light the flag but we overcame them by revising our notes and getting help from our peers. I hope that you enjoy our project and find it as inspirational as we did.

Physics benchmark -- Elise
This project represents me because i have a huge interest in art and vincent van gogh is personally one of my favorite artists. I chose to do this for my project because i liked the way that the lights represented the stars in the painting at made it look really pretty. In addition, i thought it would be a clever way to put together a circuit, and a fairly straightforward project idea.

Artistic Paragraph: Marcelus: I chose to use a sneaker because we both really like sneakers. I both wear sneakers every day. Many people see sneakers as something that you just walk but I see them as more than. I take really good care of sneakers some more than others but I like to make sure that they look good and even the smallest smudge puts us on high alert. This says that we are very serious about our sneakers but at the same time we have fun wearing them as long as we can no matter what. This also represents that sneaker very special place in our hearts.
Artistic Paragraph: Darien: I chose to use a sneaker because I thought it would be cool to light up a sneaker. Also, sneakers mean a lot to me I always clean them when I see the littlest mark. I take great care of my sneakers I always make sure they’re good. Sneakers are in our everyday life we need sneakers. Sneakers are a culture in our community in today's world.
Electric Art Project
For our Electric Art Project my partner and I decided to use a sneaker as our sculpture. Since me and my partner were as young as i could remember we always had a passion for sneakers and art. I can remember endless conversations about these two subjects. After thinking about options for this project, we found the perfect way to mesh these two ideas together. In order to consolidate art and sneakers into the faction of circuits and electricity in physics we decided to take a sneaker that I free-handily customized with an assortment of sharpies and lace it with lights. We wanted to make a design that was wearable and true to ourselves.

Crossover Bag Electric Art Project
I chose to make this sculpture which is a crossover bag , and what it says about me is that I love wearing crossover bags when I go out for different events and also like a family event , as well as getting dressed up for performances. It just brings a extra touch to the outfit that I might be wearing that time.

Donte’s Statement:
I wanted to use a speaker because listening to music is one of my favorite things to do. Music is one of the only things that gets me to do my work. This project was fun but i wish we could have used different lights.
