Top 5 Endangered Animals Infographic

I chose this topic because I wanted to show everyone that there are many animals you have probably never heard about because there are extinct or endangered. Do you want to grow up and live in a world where there are no animals left in the world? Do you want to have your children or grandchildren think that elephants are like dinosaurs? If you do, keep going on the route that all of humanity is going on by polluting the world and chopping down animal habitats to make new "luxuries" that are "needed" in this world. If you don't stop throwing away things that can be recycled. stop driving a car (if your old enough) and start riding a bike or taking a train.

Technology Tidbits and Teasers Infographic

I hope that people will learn how much we are actually on the internet and technology on a daily or weekly basis, and if they think that they are on it too much than maybe they can change it.  Something else I hope people will learn from my infographic is they will see facts about the internet and technology and if they are applying for a technology based job, then maybe they can use them to their advantage in some way.  I think one last thing that people can learn about from this is if you think you have a good idea, no matter how small or big, just go with it because Google was created by two PhD students, and now it’s a multi-billion dollar company which is being used by 7 billion people and counting all around the world today. I chose the topic that I did because technology affects out lives every single day and I use it a lot as well so I thought it would be something fun to do for this project.

Solar System Infographic

I honestly chose this subject because I wanted to teach something that we sometimes forget and that's where we really live, in the solar system. I really couldn't figure out a lot for my subject but I dug very deep to find the information that you see in the infographic now. I do hope that when people see my infographic, they will see that we live not only in neighborhoods, streets, cities, states or continents, but in a whole planet with other neighbors that we should get to know. And yes, it should be important to learn about other planets.

Quarter 1 Artist Statement/ Project

For my Quarter 1 project I decided to do a clay model of a stone with different symbols from different tribes. Me as an artist likes to use different materials and methods for my projects so that's why this time I decided to use clay.  I chose clay because to me its soothing and very fun to create things with. It is also a easy material to work with.  I chose to use symbols  and hieroglyphics because I also had an interest in for a while.  The process of this project was very time consuming. First you have to state your idea/ make a proposal.  Then you have to  research your project idea and its mediums. Next you start off with a prototype to see how your finished product  should come out. Once you're satisfied with the prototype then you can start you final product.  I chose the symbols of happiness, Guidance, and Healing.  I chose those symbols because I feel as though those terms and the keys of life. Without guidance your lost without happiness you're nothing, and without healing your stuck in the same mentality and trauma you've been in.

Rainbow Storm By Eliza Meketon

My art project consists of colorful wax blotches that outline  silhouette of someone holding umbrella in what I consider a rainbow storm. I knew that a lot of people have been doing this on pinterest and it looked fairly simple. I have also known the materials considering that I have used crayons a lot. I learned how to create wax art in which I have never done before. This project has opened me up to a whole new media.  I also learned how to incorporate two mediums into one piece of art. Painting and wax. I had a lot of fun doing this. I was able to learn many different things that I didn’t I thought I would burn my fingers but I only did that like once so everything turned out great. I know I accomplished my goal because I did everything I set out to do. I also felt proud and satisfied when I finished. If you are not happy with our project than you know you clearly did not accomplish the things you set out to accomplish. I learned to be pretty patient. I learned this because when you are melting crayons, sometimes they do not blend the way you want to, sometimes the colors spread to places you weren’t planning on going. This requires much patience and flexibility. I am just proud of my whole project. I worked really hard all class period on perfecting my piece. There was a lot waiting, and things slowly coming together. I just had to wait for everything to really start looking the way I wanted it to. It was just a lot of effort on my part and I am proud that I stuck it out. Something that I would do differently is I would maybe wear protective gloves so I wouldn’t get burned, be more efficient with clean up, and plan out where my colors are going to be.

Art Research

I made a quick doodle with pencil and then went over it with water color paint. I did this for my art research because I needed to do something quick and easy and didn't look that terrible. I wanted to make a thing that used different colors and also had to outline. It is currently at home, I will bring it in later. I think it looks good for a quick thing I did in one class.

Infographic: Do You Wanna To Build A Snowman?

I choose this topic because I feel that a snowman symbolizes Frozen pretty well. I also choose this topic because I find this topic very interesting and I feel as though it would be fun to do. I want to teach people how to build a snowman which I am pretty sure no one knows how to do.

Light Project

20150113_221427
For My project, I used a Chevrolet hat. In the beginning my goal was to light the entire hat up but I just deiced to light the sign up. The hardest part was trying to keep all the light bulbs lit at once. I used 6 light bulbs and each one had their own Parnell circuit. I choose this for my project because I like Chevrolet cars and the trucks.

The Tree of Life

20150113_133652

This is the tree of life. At the top of the tree you can clearly see that the tree is loseing its leaves. That means that time is slowly passing. I used early autumn late summer colors. To show the seasons passing as life goes on. This picture is supposed to show the beauty of life but, also the little time we have left. The leaves are slowly falling as time passed. Soon it will be winter, soon it will be too late.

Before I started tis project I knew I had to figure out how to darw a tree and how to blend colors. Now, that I look at my painting I see that I have reached my goal of blending colors and drawing a half decent tree. I compared my work to the wor I found on the internet and I asked my classmates and teachers. They say it's great so I assumed that I met my goals. While meeting my goals I learned how to make my pictures look more realistic. I am proud that my tree came out better than I hoped it would be. I was proud that I could add more even after I claimed I was finished.I don't think I would change anything about my project. I think it is perfect the way it is.

Project 2: Prototype

I will  be doing a blanket  using a cardboard loom and multi-colored string.  I will be weaving the string through the string and cardboard. I wanted it to be a life size blanket but instead iLL MAKE A MINITURE ONE.  I MIGHT  also try the Navajo weaving method which is a design. Which ever one looks the best I will go with

Physics - Jorge Gomez

Jorge Gomez

I chose this sculpture because tumblr is a way in social media where teens can go and express themselves instead of doing it in real life. I personally do this and i think it brings my self esteem up because i can socialize with other people around the world. I can now talk to someone in California or the UK i think it’s very interesting. The internet in general has evolved from 2000 - 2015. Social Media is changing peoples lives. It changed mines too because when i started going on social media and started making accounts i met new people and i had all of these online friends and i eventually met some of them.

This project maybe may sound easy at first but you brainstorm so much that you don’t even know what to do your project on or what topics interest you. I think having a parallel circuit was better because when they are in series it needs more resistance and the more resistance you need means the harder it is for electricity to flow through the copper wires. But when you have a parallel circuit it will be easier for the energy to flow because it doesn’t need that much resistance. I had two different branches one vertical one horizontal. I had a parallel circuit for one direction and a series for the other.

To me it says that social media such as tumblr can “light up” somebody’s day because when i am sad or bored i usually stick out to social media and interact with my thousands of followers. Social media can be used in a good way or in a bad way. It can be used in a good way to make friends or connect with people around the world/ talking to your family members online on facebook or twitter.

Social media can affect teenagers mental health and cause damage in the brain. For example facebook or twitter can shorten attention spans. “The Oxford University said that repeated exposure could effectively rewire the brain.” People care afraid that technology can damage the younger kids mind since they are just attracted to bright lights and buzzing noises.

Tumblr is very important in the social media world since they have tons of accounts. Tumblr has grown since 2010 over 47%. This shows that every year tumblr has gotten more popular and there’s years to come so i estimate its going to grow as big as facebook or maybe even bigger.

Physics Electric Art Project

For my project I chose a pokeball as the design. First I started by building my circuit. my circuit is a parallel circuit with one led bulb and a switch on the circuit board. I then painted the two bowls that are around the circuit red and white. I used one l.e.d bulb, a switch, and one double a battery. I chose this design because I was struggling to pick a design for my project and so the first thing i thought of was a pokeball so I chose a pokeball for the design.

Independence National Historical Park

How much does your country mean to you? Do you know everything that you should about your country history? Is there person from a different country that know more about your own country than you do? All the these types question should run through people mind pretty often.I personally am a very patriot person because I love my country. This folder that I will be using for my project symbolism the pride and passion I take in the country and its history.

One detail to support my statement relates the the folder itself .Back when I was still attending my old school,William Dick, I was invited to participate in a program called Spark. The purpose of this program selected consisted of seventh and eighth graders being allowed to go to to the workplaces and find out what exactly it is that they do. The year was 2014 and this was my second time doing this program. The thing that stood the second time for me was that was I got the chance to express my love and passion for my American at the Independence National Historical Park. I was very fascinated by the amazing buildings and the rich history the guys who worked at the park told me about. This inspired me to write an essay describing the park and why people should visit it. At the end of the program, I keep two folder to remind of the great experience that I had at the park.

Another detail to support my statement come from how often I should my respect to my country and those who serve it. As I have already establish, I take a lot of pride in my country. For example, I was usually the first person to stand for the Pledge of Allegiance back at my old school. When holidays like Veteran's Day and Independence Day come along, I make sure I take the time to truly appreciate why we have these day off. These types of holidays were never about eating hot dogs and hamburger or the fact that we have the day off to me. In my opinion, I feel that everyone should love and respect the country they live regardless what the country is.

In conclusion, even though most of example of why love my country so much is from times at my previous school, I still have that same passion today. The folders that I receive from the park me a lot to me because it all stems back to America. That experience I had at the park combine with my love and passion for American is something I hope to used in the future to teach those wish the learn about I feel about the country I live in.

Cyrus and Siradji phone case

FullSizeRender
FullSizeRender

We chose to use a phone case because we had to find something in common to work on. We both have phones and cases on our phones so we decided to use the lights on the case. We wanted it to look cool so we used a lot of lights and colors. Everyone like phone cases but they are usually plain and boring. We thought lights would make it look less boring. A phone case is important to us because phones are important to our life. We would always be bored without phones. Without a case your phone can break and we won't be able to use it.

Scorpious Constellation

This was a very interesting project and for me it was a brilliant way to encase who I am and what personality I have. When I think of the two different stereotypical Scorpios I think of myself as one of them and my traits being aggressive and witty. And the reason it has great significance to me because when people look up the horoscope they see my personality. I thought it was a very clever way when I incorporated the lights as the stars in the string of the constellations. When I was constructing my project I thought about what other people would see when they looked at my project and I had gotten the reactions I was hoping for. When people had looked at my project they didn't quite get what constellation it was but after explaining people often said “wow that’s a good idea I wish I would have thought of that.  I hope you find it interesting in what I did  and thank you for your time.

Electric Art Project

~Artist Statement~

The reason why we have pick out the sculpture we had made which was the “ Android” was because we thought it would be cool to do a thing that looks like a robot and we also decide to make it out of clay because we wanted it to be easy to make. We choose to make the “android” also because we both have android phone. #TEAMANDROID

What our sculpture says about us is that we both have android phones. Android phones help us out.

The reason why I chose the Creeper head.

Artist statement:

For this physics project, we had to create an electric art piece, by creating or using whatever we want, that has a meaningful value to us. At first this was hard for me to choose, but then it came to me so clearly, I was going to make my sculpture out of a Creepers head from the video game Minecraft. The reason why I choose to use a Creepers head because it would be simple and easy to make, but the real reason why is because Minecraft is one of my most favorite games, and I take the game highly serious. The game is an online, or single player sandbox world, a sandbox world is a type of game where you can do or create anything you want, and it expands, so you can go to different places and do different things, how ever you like. The Creeper is a monster from the video game that only spawns at night, and if it sees you it will chase, and when it gets close to you it explodes, thus killing you in the game. There are also other terrifying monsters in the game. I chose to do the creeper because it is my favorite and also one of the most terrifying monsters, plus I just thought it be really cool to make a creeper head. This creeper head means alot to me because, I really love the game, I even consider the video game to be part of my life because I just really love it. The creeper represents my love for the video game and the mob itself, this game shows that I am also a huge fan of video games.

The Glow Up Microphone

The sculpture that we decided to do was a microphone. We both like music so we thought that a microphone would be a good representation for our love of music. We both agree that music is a big stress reliever for both of us. Music plays a big part in our lives also. In the end, this is why we decided to pick our art to be a microphone.

A Simple Box With Lights

With this layout my partner and I plan to put this layout inside a casing of any hard material. We plan to use two wires coming from each side of the battery to connect the bulbs into parallel. Our casing will have holes into it so we the switch is hit on (which is a connection of wires) the bulbs will light through the holes in our material. When our switch connects resistance is higher on three bulbs and low on one. Causing three bulbs to be dim while one is fully lit.

Tyrone Hart & Shaelin Nixon

January 9, 2015

For our project, Shaelin and I built a model of a rocket and included a launching pad. Our original plan was to make a basketball, but we thought. This school has been so good to us throughout the year, so why not make a model of it? Well making a model of the school would take a little too much construction, also a few of our classmates already had that idea. So we decided to make a the symbol of our school. A rocket. Although we didn’t have all the supplies to make it look perfect and we aren’t very good artist, we made the best of what we could find and tried our hardest to make it look good.

On this project we created “THE ROCKET” is a unique bottled rocket with lights at the bottom. This rocket symbolizes our school mascot. It represents our school, That is the reason we created it. We also created this because we both would like to be engineers when we grow up and rockets involve a lot of engineering to build them so we’d like to make rockets later on.

We choose to make this sculpture because we both love to watch and play basketball. We both like playing sports and we wanted to do a sculpture that is off of a sport and since we like basketball  so much we choose basketball. We also play video games that are basketball related like 2k.We was thinking of choosing football but we like basketball a lot better and we thought it would be more interesting if we did basketball because if we choose football we would just have drawn a football and that would have not be better then drawing a hoop and a basketball. This sculpture just says about us that we like sports and basketball is the sport we like most.

Our partnership chose to make a replica of the Science Leadership Academy@Beeber building. Not only is it a great school, it’s where we will be building our futures. So we wanted to represent something important in our lives. In doing this project, it took time, energy, and dedication to create a pretty decent and sturdy model.

Shadiyah: This project is important to me because it is a fun, educational way to build a circuit including the resistors. Also, this project is important because it helps me understand about a circuit and the equations of a resistor and how to find the resistors in a circuit. One reason I did this project was because I wanted to add a challenge to building it while including  bulbs, wires, a battery, and wire tape. Me and my partner built a Christmas tree. It is 11 inches with copper wire to build and wire tape to hold the pieces together.

Emanuel: This project is important to me because, not only did I have a fun way to practice using circuits, but I got to learn new things about how to connect circuits. Me and my partner built a modern style Christmas tree. Its about 11 inches tall and has to separate halves. The main structure is made of thick copper wire. We used wire tape to hold it all together. This sculpture is important and meaningful to me because it symbolizes one of my favorite holidays and I put a lot of thought into it.
