Below is important information about SLA@Beeber. Make sure to review it before the first day of school!
Getting to the School
School starts at 8:15 a.m. every day and ends at 3:05 p.m. Tuesdays and Fridays, 3:30 p.m. on Wednesdays and 3:50 p.m. on Mondays and Thursdays.
The school is located at 5925 Malvern Ave.
Students can be dropped off at the front of the building. Students enter through the front door.
Students taking SEPTA can take Bus Routes G, 44 or 65 as well as the Regional Rail to the Overbrook Station. Free transpasses are available from SEPTA for students who live at least 1.5 miles away from the school (School District of Philadelphia’s transportation policies).
Transpasses will be handed out on the first day of school during advisory. Students taking Regional Rail can upgrade their student transpass at these SEPTA locations.
Contacting the School
Families should contact their advisor with any questions about the first day of school. Advisor contact information can be found at http://slabeeber.org/pages/Faculty_and_Staff.
In the future and in case of emergency, please use the main office as the first line of contact to your child.
Students who still have pending paperwork with the District need to bring this paperwork to school on the first day. If you are not sure if you are missing paperwork, you can contact the 22nd St building at 215-979-5620.
Students who did not receive a supply list from their teacher will need to bring only their agenda books, something to write with, a notebook and a folder for the first day of school.
SLA students must dress respectfully in a manner that will not disrupt the educational process. Students can read more about the policies around this topic in the Appearance section of the Student Handbook.
All students MUST purchase a lab coat. Lab coats are worn during lab time and at times when the school is hosting guests and can be purchased during advisory time only.
