Electric art project

Posted by Imani Devore in Physics · Gray · D on Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at 8:30 am

(Imani) The reason why I chose to put a rocket on the hat is because the rocket is our mascot for our school and I wanted to make sure I included a piece of the school in it. The reason why I put the lights coming out of the bottom of the rocket is because I wanted it to symbolize fire , since when rockets take off fire comes out of the back. I put lights coming out of the hat because I felt like we should have included some lights that were in series. (Madinah) The reason I picked a hat with lights and also 2021 lighting up was because I have a very great mind and I’m very bright so I put lights . With the 2021 lighting up I choose to do that because that is the year that I’m graduating and that year is going to be important to me for the rest of my life. I had the lights coming out of the 0 is because I wanted that to bright up because that year is my bright light. (since we used the same amount of lights for both hats all of the numbers were the same.)

Q4 Electric Art Project

Posted by Fatima Hmada in Physics · Gray · D on Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at 8:29 am

ARTIST’S STATEMENT: I decided to make a cat because I was inspired by my own black cat named Cali. I used the lights as yarn because she loves to play with string. The block represents a scratching post.; CIRCUIT ANALYSIS: I attached the lights in series (ten) to the paw of my model cat. I then attached each end of the wires to my energy source. I this case, it was a 9 volts battery. As you can see in the images below, the current of energy flowing from the battery, through the wires, lights and back again allowed the lights to light up.

Physics Benchmark: Pink Diamond

Artist Statement:

This sculpture is a reference to the show Steven Universe. I made a pink diamond because in the show you learn from a character named Pink Diamond that not everyone is as they seem. This applies to my real life experiences because of so many predicaments I come across where people pretend to be one way but end up being another. This project symbolizes me learning from my past mistakes.

Physics Electric Project - nyssa

Posted by Nyssa Perkins in Physics · Gray · D on Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at 8:28 am

For our physics project, we choose to do a cloud lamp. We thought that it would be different and creative than other groups. In my opinion, clouds remind me of dreaming and imagining, a hole filled with the imagination that I can control. The cloud lamps are also used for a cute design for home but it is also cool to make and have as your own. For our physics project, we decided to do a cloud lamp. I always liked the idea of a stormy cloud that changes color. I wanted to make one of my own to hang it up in my room in the dark. We thought this idea would be creative and different for other groups.

Tyler's electric art project

My artist statment
  • I chose to make this sculpture because, one It was really convenient with what I decided to use for the sculpture. As well as the fact that I think that it would look really cool once it is done. Also, I think that is says that I am going through the hardships that go along with having a broken arm as well as. My drive to make sure that it does not hinder me to much and that I will definitely make it through having a broken arm ok and stronger than I was before.

The reason why I chose to do this sculpture is because I live on this planet. Even if it is full of annoying people, it is still where I live. It is still a place I live on and that I call home. Earth is a place where it provide everything I need. Oxygen, food, water, the Earth provides that. I had put the lights around the Earth because people don’t sometimes think of the Earth that much. Meaning that they should

I chose to make a yin and yang symbol to represent negative and positive emotions. Without negatives there can’t be positives and without positive there can’t be negatives. The yin and yang symbol shows this statement. This is one of the things I believe.
