Abriana Thomas' Capstone

Throughout my four years of high school, I have been noticing that many of my peers and myself were struggling mentally. However, a lot of the people that were struggling, were not receiving help. So, I decided to focus my capstone around the issue of mental health among teens and the stigma around therapy. I created an infographic that has information about free and low cost therapy/counseling options in the city of Philadelphia. Additionally, I had the pleasure of interviewing Dr. Jane S. Kennedy. She is a social worker at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. We discussed possible root causes of issues, the stigma around therapy, and her personal experiences with patients.
