Environmental Justice Textiles

I chose this topic to learn more about the textile industry. I want to go to school next year for fashion design at FIT. If I want to have my own clothing brand someday I should how that would be affecting the environment. In the future, I want to make clothing out of only eco-friendly materials and non-polluting dyes. Through intensive research, I found out where a lot of clothing is being created and it's usually overseas with largest produces being China and India then learning how the textile industry is affecting the ecosystems in that surrounding area by dyes polluting the waterways, Overconsumption leading to an abundance of waste which is pilling up in landfills, and with big boats transportation overseas releases a ton of co2 emissions into the air. If we used time manegengemt better we could have gotten the project done earlier and have time to revise. A single cotton shirt uses 2,700 Liters of water from start to finish that is enough water to last a human over 2 years. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wiLFkEy0tqE
