Environmental Science Q2 BM Reflection: Oil Refineries
The initial reason I suggested analyzing and researching oil refineries in Philadelphia as our Benchmark was because it was a unique topic outside of the listed issues, as well as it's political pertinence. Oil & Fossil Fuel have been attributed to the erosion of the Ozone layer, global warming, and other detrimental impacts on the environment. This issue is especially contentious as legislators and politicians in the US have battled over the issue of climate change and fossil fuel, particularly petroleum and oil regarding the acceleration of climate change. Some legislators have chosen to side with oil industries and lobbies while others oppose these lobbies and advocate for new and more efficient renewable energy systems. This PSA provides a slight political and ecological perspective which could help folks understand the ramifications of our reliance on oil but also decide which policies and politicians to support when it comes to the issue of the environment. 2. We all contributed well. I played a most significant role in explaining the political and social perspective of our researched issue, while my groupmates assisted in culminating the project by doing research on the environmental impacts. I also played a role in acquiring the clips we needed for our voice over. 3. The thing we did best was the writing of the script, I think we could've done a better job at editing the video, there are some parts which are unclear. 4. The most meaningful part of creating this PSA was synthesizing the political and environmental context to have a deeper understanding of environmental justice.
