Group Artist Statement
This unit was about how we relate to each other and how we are similar or different. Our assignment was to create a two to four minute group video including these things in almost anyway that we could. We learned through this process more about everyone as a person on a more personal level. We showed that even though we all may not have the same interests, we are willing to try things out. We also learned that we are all very accepting of everyone’s personalities and interests, as well as who we are. We all tried new thing in the video like dancing, and basketball. This video consisted of us showing how we have similar experiences by portraying stereotypes that have been used to describe us, showing our personal and individual interests, and trying things out as a group.

How have I expressed the complexity of myself in this video? I express myself by being who I am, and being proud of the things I can do, because it doesn’t matter what people think of me, all that matters is me being proud of who I am and who I am about to become in the future!.
In this video I express myself by being confident and proud of who I am. I express myself through my culture because culture is what makes me different. I am a proud African, I speak (five) different languages (fullani, French, Mandingo, sosso, and English), they are part of my life because that’s how I connect to my family and friends.
To fully understand this video, you have to understand what it is to be African and who i am. I defined my personality and through each picture. From doing this project and presenting it to my classmates, I learned that you can be different and not be ashamed of my individuality Jack Kleiner's Artist statement
In my video, I expressed the complexity of my personality by included many different types of things that I enjoy and parts of my identity. I used multiple time lapse videos of me playing guitar to express my love for music, flipping through a large book to show how much I love to read, and drawing the solar system to show how much I love science and astronomy/astrophysics. I also included many pictures of me and my friends because they are a large part of my life and have significantly affected me in a positive way. By doing this project, I learned that it is important to express myself truthfully and as comfortably as I can because that way I can friends who know who I am. I learned that there are many people are who are accepting of me for my differences and quirks, even if they’re really weird.

I picked my family and best friends because I believe that they have made me into the great person I am today and that if I would ever lose them I would cry my heart out. Then i have my future for my future friends that i have met this year that like me for who I am. I learned by doing my project and viewing others I learned that some of use are not really different we all have little things that make us alike. I also learned what some of my friends and fellow classmates like and appreciate in their life.
