Jeremy Savage Capstone

What I did for my capstone was build a go-kart with Khayri Burke, Naji Henderson, Jordan Davis, and Sergio Ruiz to race in a competition. This process started off with just us trying to figure out the mechanics of a car first and understanding how our go-kart would work. There was then a conversation about the theme of our car and brainstorming exactly how we wanted our go-kart to look like and how it would function. We then came up with what we thought we needed to buy and what we could make to save money. Our idea really was to show off completely how collaboration and teamwork really can make a difference in how professional this go-kart would be. It was hard at first with being familiar with engineering but not cars directly but with the help from our mentors, I got an understanding and combined my understanding of mechanics with the task at hand. Every Wednesday we met you and came up with a task for each and every one of us to do starting from the bottom and building our way to the top. We also bought a pre-existing mini-car toy for children which was about the same size as the go-kart we're building and noted how some things could be changing and added to the frame of the car. Our end product is something we all worked hard on together and all were proud of. We followed the steps we gave one other and completed what we wanted to.
