Jhalil Allen Capstone

For my capstone I worked with Jailyn Pope-Thomas and we did a Sports Ceremony. The purpose behind this capstone was to recognize and shine light on all the student athletes that attend SLA Beeber and also the hard work and sacrifices that they’ve done over the school year, as they proudly represented our school throughout their respective seasons. Jailyn and I both know what it feels like to not get awarded for hard work so we gave athletes at SLA Beeber awards. It was a long process especially because we had to wait for the sports seasons to be over and then talk to the coaches. We gave everyone that showed up to the ceremony awards and will give the rat out when we see the other students. I learned how to be organized and how to do things like sports ceremonies and what it takes to get people involved with things like this. It was fun because we gave back to kids who were working hard as an student athlete and did something we are involved around because we play sports also. Since I want to be an entrepreneur I should know how to do things that are similar to having sports ceremonies. I care for people around me that are student athletes just like me because people I understand what it takes to be an student athlete and how it’s hard to balance school and the sport you play at the same time. I hope people continue to do this as their capstone but even better with awards and stuff.
