Ocean Pollution Biome

It was a surprise to know oil spills were still happening in our oceans and that plastic was harming the animals. There are so many toxic industries who make money from destroying the land and this severely affects marine life in all of the ocean. There is also bacteria growing on the ocean's surface such as algae that could affect the amount of sunlight that reaches into the ocean which affects how other plants grow in the ocean. Mining for materials such as copper and gold is a major source of contamination in the ocean because copper is a major source pollutant and can interfere with the life cycle of numerous ocean animals. It worries me a lot that our oceans are being polluted because this is water we need, they are the piece keeping our land together. They produce more than half of the oxygen in the atmosphere and absorb the carbon from it. The carbon will eventually grow out of control and our oceans won’t be able to consume so much then still be a reliable oxygen source. I am also worried about the animals. Tortoise have been found with straws up their nose, around their neck and it’s really heartbreaking to see that this is the heart of humans. We have grown so high and mighty within ourselves that its forgotten we need the world around us to even be who we are, we are destructive of our own kind. I wonder why humans lack so much care about an environment they live in. It is difficult to make a change in a mass community when you are the only one who wants to make that change. Climate change has grown to be so important to me, I want to be apart of a better world, I want to breathe better air, I want to save the Earth but when there are obstacles around you prepared to constantly destroy what you fix, it’s a pain to try again. I think this is why we give up but I want to teach youth like myself to do this. I wonder how the world will survive in the years to come if humans don’t find it necessary to change their behavior. This project is a model of the oil spill that took place April 20, 2010 in the Gulf of Mexico.
