Reproductive Health

Our PSA on reproductive health consists of general facts about the public health topic on several different issues pertaining to it. These issues revolve around the lack of coverage women ge for reproductive health under healthcare, the outside factors that are trying to strip away the few rights women have to reproductive treatment, the lack of awareness and teaching, and what clinics are doing to help provide women when it comes to reproductive health. We chose this topic as a group because we are all women and it is something that affects us right now under an administration with policies and politics that are attacking our reproductive healthcare rights. We live in a time where we have to fight harder to protect those rights which is why we chose this topic. It personally relates to us and we wanted to spread awareness.

I helped with the project by doing preliminary research and creating questions for the interview as well as conducting the interview myself. When I reflect back on what I did well, I would say that I did well helping to come up with good questions that would prompt concise and insightful information. I could have begun some things earlier in the process if I am being completely honest. The most meaningful part of the experience of creating the PSA was learning more about a topic that affects me so personally especially someone of my ethnicity and socio-economic standing. Due to the factors that inhibit reproductive healthcare such as politics and religious overbearings targeting reproductive health clinics, biased funding, and false research, reproductive health is a huge topic because it affects everyone and it barely being covered by our healthcare plan.
