Students of East Stream: Jade
"Well, the best thing about being a teenager I guess s having experiences and new things and not having as much responsibility as a adult. Like, we don't have to pay bills buy gas or I guess some people do but you don't have to buy a house or have mortgage and it's not like it's mandatory to have a job. The worst thing is to not have as much freedom as you want and stuff, like our parents want us home at a certain time. Like, sometimes it gets annoying.
How different do you think your generation is from others?
"Our generation, I have to say, is worse compared to other generations. Other generations, I think, had more respect. More, like, it's more social expectations instead of individuals desires. But, a plus side to this one is people are less judge free nowadays, like coming up, it doesn't matter what race you are, sometimes it does. But more as we grow, it's starting not to matter what race or what sexual orientation. Whatever you wanna do, you are able to do it and I think that's one of the advantages that we have."
At what age did technology become heavily integrated into your life?
"I think it always was a heavy influence in my life. Like, my first phone, I was like five. I had a phone and I was five. I think that's really cause like my mom and other people said they didn't get their first phone until they were in like high school, that was like crazy."
