For my project, I wanted to help kids with autism better communicate and show their emotions. I did this by working at my mom’s job, Helping Hand Family, by working with the children individually. I would observe their behavior and get to learn all the different ways for things. I would also help teach them how to ask for something even if it’s not through speech. Even pointing to what they wanted was acceptable, as long as they communicated without outbursts or angry gestures.
I chose asbestos because it is something that has affected me and the rest of my peers in our own school. Our video is about a detective trying to figure out how to protect the people from the villain “asbestos” who was giving everyone asbestosis. In the video, we show ways to get rid of asbestos and describe what it does and what it’s made of. Also the dangers of it and to show awareness. It was a cinematic masterpiece. The only problem in my opinion was that someone was not there to shoot a certain part. The most meaningful part of this PSA was being able to create a fun but a very informative movie for my peers to watch and also hopefully learn from.
