Environmental Science PSA: Air Pollution

Posted by Camryn Nedrick in Environmental Science · Sasso-Chryst · D on Wednesday, May 15, 2024 at 8:44 am

My Group and I chose Air Pollution because we want to talk about the dangers of this environmental issue and how we can reduce this issues without causing more harm to the planet. Me personally, I chose this because as someone who has asthma this can harm me as I am prone to getting sick.

We edited the video but we wanted to put more information onto the slides but what we could’ve done better is make the video longer.

Most meaningful message I want to send out is how we all had humans can reduce and ultimately get rid of this problem.

Camryn Nedrick - Q3 Benchmark reflection

Posted by Camryn Nedrick in Environmental Science · Sasso-Chryst · D on Wednesday, March 20, 2024 at 9:56 pm

What value do we see in the biodiversity and natural resources of the earth?

We see healthy ecosystems help to maintain the Earth’s natural Process.

What human actions are associated with altering earth’s natural systems?

Us burning fossil fuels and throwing trash into the sea.

How can individuals, communities and or nations live more sustainably?

To limit using factories that can pollute the air and start using renewable resources to live more sustainable.

Reflection Questions:

How did this project deepen your understanding of sustainability?

This deepened my understanding by looking at the food industry to see how sustainable it is but in reality it’s kind of in the middle.

What information about your chosen industry surprised you most? Why?

Finding out that the food industry is actually sustainable based on how you use certain products to create a food business that can be sustainable.

How did you contribute to your groups project? Provide specific examples. What were you proud of, in terms of your overall project?

I collected the items for our physical model and also made the slides. I was proud of the slides more than the physical model as the physical model isn’t finished but the slides showed off how I would think a food business should be sustainable.

Volcanoes - Camryn Nedrick

The Earth is made of several subsystems or “spheres” that interact to form a complex and continuously changing whole called the Earth system. By understanding environmental science, we can work together and see how these natural disasters are created to see what kind of precautions we can take whenever they occur.

Doing this project was interesting because it gave me more insights on how these natural disasters are created and how it affects our environment and what things that our earth does that can also affect our environment.

Vet Assistant - Camryn Nedrick

A Vet assistant is someone who assists the doctor with surgery for an animal. They also sanitize everything down, set the table for surgery and also help restrain the animal before surgery. What I find most interesting about this profession is that it sounds like the assistant does more work than the doctor does. Advice I would give someone interested in this profession is that if you love animals this is the perfect career for you!
