I am Chile Winsley. I'm a 21-year-old loner girl. I  have my mom's pearls, special socks, and my phone. My room is a mess. I have a big pile of clothes in a corner. My rocking chair next to my window. My door is painted with flowers. My bed is barely tightened up. My closet door is half open. My small table on the side of my bed has my journal and my lamp.

Internet Survival Guide

Posted by Renaijah Crockett on Monday, December 19, 2016 at 9:03 am
1st slide: It’s just the cover page .
2nd slide :In this slide show we will talking about the impact of internet on communication, immediacy, permanence, lack of control,managing/protecting identity, my thoughts on “does the internet have rules?”,cyberbullying, tips, and advice.
3rd slide: The internet has changed communication because it has made it faster and more efficient. People are able to get and share information easier. Also talk to people from all across the world.
4th slide: Immediacy means instantly. Right after you press enter, your post will be sent off into the abyss that is called the internet.
5th slide: Permanence means it’s there forever ; eternal. Pertaining to the internet, everything you post online is there forever. It is never really,  “deleted”.
6th slide: Lack of control means that you can’t contain where your post will end up at after you press “post”.
7th slide :They affect our online identities/lives because it can lead to people doing stuff they might not usually do. Immediacy doesn’t give you enough time to think about your post. Permanence: Once it’s posted, it’s there forever. Lack of control: People will post and repost it. So even after it is deleted there is still a chance it’s not gone completely.
8th slide : They affect our offline identities/lives because they make someone lose their jobs over a stupid tweet or facebook post. It could really affect how people perceive them. They could lose everything because of one mistake. Immediacy affects offline because that  quick and erratic post could have been detrimental to business and relationships. Permanence affects a person offline because the posts can now be seen in their “permanent” reputation on the internet  even after deletion. Lack of control  affects your offline life because you can no longer control who see it. Potential bosses, peers, family, and even strangers will see the ignorant post/mistake you made.
9th slide: Two ways you can manage and protect your identity are by consistently checking to see if you are being impersonated and make sure to contact the website when you do. Report bullies/trolls and never post personal information.
10th slide: No, the internet does not have rules because people wouldn’t be able to do the things do.

For example, Donald trump's tweets. They are racist, ignorant, and sexist yet he hasn’t been punished for it. Wouldn’t his tweets count as libel because his words have messed up the reputation of blacks, gays, and women.

11th slide: Cyberbullying is harassing( impersonating, sharing other’s personal stuff, and etc) and verbally abusing someone on the internet/ social media .

12th slide: One kind of cyberbullying is shaming. Its when a person repost or post someone else’s mistakes to make them feel bad.

Another kind is outing. Outing is when you post someone’s personal information.

These are considered cyberbullying because these can cause someone to feel bad about themselves. They can also put people in danger.
13th slide:
My advice for victims is dont let what bullies do get to you because you will never get over it if you do. Just try to block their comments and insults out of your head. You could always block and report them.

14th slide : My advice for bullies is stop being jerks . How would you feel if you were the victim? Just mind your buisness if you dislike something/someone because the same things you do to others you would hate to see happen to you.

15th slide:My advice for bystanders don’t just watch the bully harass the victim, help them. Report the bully and let the website know what the bully has been doing. Also don’t try to jump in because you’ll add fuel to the flame. You’ll just make the bully happy but entertaining him/her.

16th slide: Tip 1: think about what you post first

Tip 2 : Never post personal information

Tip 3: Walk away from trolls

Tip 4 : Report when you see cyberbullying

Tip 5 : Don’t share passwords

Learn - Create - Lead

Creativity while learning…

helps me to express my feelings on the topic that I’m learning .It helps me to make what I’m learning more enjoyable. If I am creative than I can grasp onto the subject better. Creativity while learning is very efficient and I won’t be as bored. I think that not being creative during learning leads to not very well-spoken ideas and projects. Honestly, creativity just makes everything way more fun and enjoyable . When you enjoy something you tend to want to do more. So if I enjoy school than I will want to continue to be educated. Creativity helps with everything .It helps to get you a exceeding expectations on your grades. It also helps you become a better student and kid, in general. You will most likely get what you need and help others understand what they need when you are creative while learning . I’ve always used creativity while I learned and It’s worked out great for me. I just think it’s better for kids’ learning if they are able to be creative. It’s boring to have to write this big essay about nothing. Most likely when you finish, you’ll remember none of that information you just wrote about.

Cisco Fatty Incident

Posted by Renaijah Crockett on Thursday, November 3, 2016 at 1:45 pm

Connor Riley , a would have been - employee of Cisco wrote a tweet that got her fired before she even started the job. Connor tweeted, "Cisco just offered me a job! Now I have to weigh the utility of a fatty paycheck against the daily commute to San Jose and hating the work.". A channel partner advocate for Cisco Alert then tweeted her, "Who is the hiring manager. I’m sure they would love to know that you will hate the work. We here at Cisco are versed in the web.".

Article link:
http://www.dailytech.com/Womans+Fatty+Paycheck+Tweet+Catches+Attention+of+Cisco/article14690.htm

After this incident, Connor Riley was harassed on social media. She put her page on private and deleted her information. But even after that it was too late because her tweet had been shared everywhere. There is even a website called CiscoFatty.com. This will effect her ability to get jobs because of how publicly known she is for this dumb tweet. Jobs wouldn't want to be associated with that.

Immediacy's part in this story is how quick the tweet was able to upload and be exposed to the Twitter world. Even if she wanted to change her mind, it would be to late.

Permanance's part was even after Connor deleted the tweet it was everywhere. People had already shared the tweet .Now anyone can look up "Cisco Fatty incident" and articles and pictures of the tweet will pop up.

After Connor pressed "tweet", she lost control over who could see and what would happen to the tweet. Even the decision to post that was a example of lack of control. She didn't think before she wrote that.

My advice to Connor is next time think. If she would have thought before she post that, then maybe she wouldn't be viral for a stupid tweet. She should sat and thought, " Is this tweet really, worth my job?".
