  The Cost of Higher Education

Posted by Mary Hertz in TECH 1 - Hertz - a2 on Thursday, January 8, 2015 at 9:57 am
My infographic explains how expensive higher education is in the United States. I hope that people will see how hard it is for high schoolers to afford college and to see how our costs here in the United States compare with those of our neighbors, Canada and Mexico. I think it's important that people know how saddled young people are with debt when they graduate from college these days.

A picture is worth a thousand words

I chose this image because I thought that the message was pretty straightforward. The girl has clearly been crying, which was probably over the texts sent to her. I think that this image conveys how much someone can be affected by cyberbullying.I think that maybe the person who sent those texts probably didn't think that she/he could potentially be brought to court over something like this. These texts could be shown as evidence in court.

The Internet is a double-edged sword

I chose this image because it shows how the Internet is a two-edged sword. What may seem like an innocent post can get you into a lot of trouble. Whereas being too cautious may cause criticism. Because it’s instinctive to do wrong this seems like the “chocolate cake” of options available. But the results are way better if you decide on the “plain” option.

Bullying

Bullying is wrong. A lot of people commit suicide because they can't get rid of the people or the problem isn't going away. Bullying is harassment and it should be stopped. People get hurt and they feel pain inside and out. It’s good to talk to someone about it, but most people don't do that because they think its going to make it worse. Bullying is a part of life, in our life's there is a moment when we felt harassed or we felt that someone hurt us, and we need someone to talk to. Most people are being bullied at school because of what they were or if they are a nerd. I think it shouldn't matter if a person is a nerd or popular, all humans have different personality and we show it in different ways.

Cyber Bullying

Posted by Eoin Kelly in TECH 1 - Hertz - a2 on Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at 9:16 am

I chose this image because it resembles the average person who gets cyber bullied. The message I am trying to send is that cyber bullies are just people who don't get enough attention so they try and start drama to get attention. You shouldn't get to mad over a couple of bad comments on a Youtube video, because everyone knows that it is just a comment. This has happened to me, I posted a video called, "The Eraser Challenge", and it got a lot of hate and spam. I knew not to get mad because I KNEW that no one was going to do anything in real life.

Stomp Out Bulling

Posted by Tronta Pounds in TECH 1 - Hertz - a2 on Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at 9:11 am

A couple things came to mind when I looked at this image. One thing was how it gives a clear and direct statement about bulling. It flat out says "stomp out bulling" and I could not agree more with this statement because of the fact that its so simplistic. That is why I choose this image to present. I also like the artwork that is presented with this image and I found a statistic that went hand and hand with this image. Every 1 and 4 people are bullied and the four feet in the picture represents this.

Jorge G. Bullying not accepted ...

Posted by Jorge Gomez-Corril in TECH 1 - Hertz - a2 on Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at 9:04 am

I chose this image because it shows that there is people out there that actually care about bullying. My image shows that this girl is against bullying. I like the message that this picture is sending out because i am also against bullying. What i am trying ot convey is that you should never be a bully and you should also be against bullying.

Be careful when you are online

Posted by Robert Janoff in TECH 1 - Hertz - a2 on Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at 8:56 am

I chose this image because when you are online you and your identity are never safe. This is a picture of a person stealing someones information and making their online identity look bad. I have learned from experience to not put any information that is private or will make my online identity seem bad. I know people who have had to recreate their whole online identity because of one mistake they made when they were on the internet. To recap what I am trying to say basically if you are online don't put any imformation like passwords to your personal accounts just for an example online where you think people will see it and use it in ways you don't want to use it.

End cyberbullying

Posted by Jade Harris in TECH 1 - Hertz - a2 on Thursday, December 11, 2014 at 2:06 pm

Cyberbullying is becoming a problem espcially in America today. 95% of teens who witnessed bullying on social media report that others, like them, have ignored the behavior. In order for cyberbullying or bullying in general to end we have to stop being bystanders and speak up. More than half young people that were surveyed claimed they never reported it or told their parents. Silencing your voice only helps the bully to continue to keep on bully you. So, next time you see someone being bullied say something because it can make a difference.
