Alzheimer's Disease

This project was to help us understand the importance of the structure and function of the nervous system. In my group, we studied Alzheimer's Disease. This disease involved the brain. We learned that over time enzymes and proteins can stop functioning which can lead to major problems like loss of memory, lack of ability to do certain tasks, such as eating, speaking, or showering. This disease may be genetic but there are other factors that scientists are trying to come up with to try and find a cure. We decided on this disease because we knew that this is a very common disease in this country and one of the top causes of American deaths. It also doesn't have a cure which we thought was interesting.​
