Art 1: Final Portrait Project
I want to work to communicate to my audience that the things in my drawing are things that I like and things that reflect the person who I am today. The tools I used to help create and bring my image to life was pencil to sketch out my final design. After I was done with my sketch and I was happy with what I had created, I then when over the drawings with a sharpie. When I was done outlining my work with the sharpie marker. I then started to color in the images on my portraits with color pencils and markers. After I was done with that I then worked on my background for the portrait. My inspiration for my background came from the crumpled up tie-dye shirt look. My current work relates to this project because I have done a project where I had created a self-portrait. The only thing that was different with this portrait is that I just used a pencil. I used a pencil and charcoal for different shading techniques.
The process I went through to complete this project wasn’t really hard or long. It was quite simple. I say this because I already knew what I wanted to do when I went over the project description. An artist who has inspired me is Frida Kahlo. She is a famous artist known for drawing self-portraits of herself. https://www.1000museums.com/art_works/frida-kahlo-self-portrait-on-the-borderline-between-mexico-and-the-united-states--3
A certain technique that as important in my art piece was that I had to make sure I had clean precise lines. I also made sure I stayed inside the lines when I was coloring some of the pictures I drew. I experimented more with mixing colors. I had done this for my background of my portrait. I had mixed 2 different types of blues and white together to get my desired tie-dye look.
I’m most proud of my work because I put a lot of hard work and time into this project. I also am proud of it because I thought that the things I put in my portrait reflect who I am as a person. The thing I would change about this project is that I would.I'd change how I drew myself in the portrait I think I could have spent more time and put a little bit more effort into it. One thing I learned through the completion of this project was that a learned a little more about myself and what makes me the person I am today.
