Dear lapis I absolutely love your poem i found it to be very strong, powerful, and inspiring. I also liked the entire topic of the zine, I think it is a very necessary discussion and has a lot of depth. I think you properly displayed the problems with this issue and how it affects black women. You did a very good job and I cannot wait to hear what else you have to say and see what else you do.

Dear Lapis, I genuinely liked your zine. I appreciate how black women are portrayed in the writings and artwork. The poem's attitude and tone when you said "I will not be, I will be" this phrase was amazing.

Dear Lapis, I truly enjoyed your zine. I enjoy the black women representation through the poems and images. The tone in the poem "I will not be, I will be" speaks the message itself.

Dear <Lapiz> :

I am really happy with your work of art, “Black women: Victims of the media,” because of the detail you go into. Especially revolving around the hyper-sexualization black girls face, literally from the moment we are born. I truly love how straightforward the entire thing is.

One part of your artwork that stands out for me is your poem. I like how it basically talks about setting boundaries and not allowing society to dictate everything you do. I think this is amazing because not only do you use an excellent amount of imagery. But you also are making things plain, where it'd be almost impossible to not understand the concept of what your talking about. While also presenting the reader with a lesson.

Another part that I appreciated is your collage. This stood out for me because of how true it is. It gets pretty annoying when everyone else gets to live free and not have a bunch of labels placed upon them (not to say that everyone else has life on easy-mode). But when it comes to Black women/girls, that very same standard is not upheld.

The quotes you used on your collage reminds me of something that I read before. One time… I read was watching a video on a case where a Black woman was murdered by her significant other. And I just thought about how high the Black femicide rate has risen since that case happened, especially when it comes to Black women who are also mothers. It lets me know that there will probably never be a safe space for Black women/girls in this world, and all we will be to do is just deal with it.

Thanks for your zine. I look forward to seeing what you make next, because you're a very creative person.

I am in awe of your Zine. The whole black representation is amazing. The "I will not be, i will be" poem is amazing, i feel like it speaks to me. This is the type of stuff that all black women need to see and feel.
