Blog Post: Express Myself! Videos Publication and Promotion

What did we learn in this unit? What new learning or knowledge does this video represent?

We learned that all our classmates are very similar in ways, such as sports and the arts. A lot of our classmates are very talented in drawing, singing, and dance.  We learned about how race impacts our life. We also learned that Christian, Islam, and Atheism were the top three religions in this class. We learned how to define ourselves and how to define each other. In our video we wanted to explain that you can be yourself and never let society pressure you to change.


Summary: What we did in our video was to first show the sports: basketball and football that Shadiyah and Shamir are interested in. Next we showed that Aaliyah wants be an engineer. Then we showed what Ivana and Ashton were interested in, which was art. Lastly we showed how we collaborated. People are individuals. We have our own sense of style and music. People express themselves because humans are social beings, who want to know about other people, and want others to know about them. This is why we speak and write. Sometimes other things, such as poetry, music and drawing, are more effective ways of expressing themselves. Playing sports lets you express yourself in a physical way. There are plenty of opportunities to yell or feel elated when things go well. Team sports allow you to express yourself and combine your energy with others both in verbal and non-verbal ways.  In conclusion , be yourself and don’t let any-one change who you are.


In my video what i you to fully understand about it is the Hobby i’m into which is Art as you might see i put several pictures of my sketches and a couple of my fellow classmates didn't know that i love to draw they were surprised when they saw my video also what i want you to see is that i like to take a lot of pictures which i didn't put many in my video and also i like to hang out with my friends and family by the pictures i put in my video. What i learned while doing this project was defining my hobby. Hobbies Show what you like doing this shows a lot because you wouldn't care what people say if you do it right or not, you are enjoying it and that's what really matters. Our hobbies are a topic that defines who you are.

​Artist statement: In this video it is clear to see that I like to take pictures. There are some silly pictures and pictures when I am bored. One thing to understand in the video is this is how I express myself with photos. In my video i expressed my self with photos. The photos explain my feelings such as happy, silly, and goofy. These actions express how i feel now a days and how i often identify myself. I know as i said before that identified  myself as helpful but that's not how i show the rest of my identity. Sometimes i could be a little goofy, and silly because that's just who i am and those are the way that i express my self very well.  In my video you will see a little of each in some of the pictures. I know there are other people out there who express their self the same way as i do but don’t know how. One day i will share a video or story of my expression so i can connect with others and have them share their story. I also expressed the complexity in my video with my feelings so the audience can see how i feel sometimes ( it may not look like i showed my feelings but i did). My video explains a lot of my personality.

​We express ourselves because we want to be known as someone else not to be know as the person next us.Expressing ourselves helps us to stand out from the crowd it helps us to get through life without trying to be something we’re not,also it helps us to figure out who we want to be what do I want to do with my life.We can express ourselves to figure new things about us that we did knew we liked,expressing ourselves gives us a pieces of mind where no one is in control but where there are no rules.Just doing what what we love.We can express ourselves so many ways through music, art, food, pictures, videos etc.But what I think and truly believe is that we express ourselves to find ourselves.People use Social media everyday.Now what do they use to stay connected to it?That’s right technology, people use technology everyday from computers,tablets to cell phones.But now the question is: how does technology affect the way express ourselves and use it to connect with others?Well my answer to that is pictures and videos,we can us by telling people what we're doing or capture the moment.After we’re done with those pictures and videos what does whole world do with them? We all post it either on Facebook,twitter,Instagram even vine.Now why do we do that? We may do that so we can let people know how we feel what we’re maybe doing at that moment, even to let them know that we are OK if something has happened.But there are many other ways we use can technology to express ourselves.In my express myself video used my pictures to show me as a family member and a best friend.In my video I have pictures of my sisters and brothers also my mom and dad to show how much they mean to me.In my video I have a video of my little cousin crawling I put it in my video to show how funny and cute she is and how much I love her.When it came to dancing in my video I put the people that inspire me to dance such as Fik shun, jasmine, Micheal Jackson and Zendaya.I put So You Think You Can in my video because in the future I hope to be on that show one day and that it will help me with my dancing.But over all in my video it’s about my life as a dancer a family member also a best friend and what goes on in my everyday life. blog post assignment.

It is important to express yourself because it will let people know who you are and get people to like you. Most of us spend our days walking around with our noses buried in our smart phones. And while we're doing that, we're tuning out the people who are actually in the same room as us. We seem to have long ago crossed the line as to where doing this stuff is appropriate  In this video I showed my life in a 1 min video. My life constants the love I have for bio-engineering , family , my religion and much more. My life is so fun and exciting in the video it should i’m not just a normal student. I usually go to school 6 days a week and 3x the homework for my coding and engineering classes. But its all worth it I always have fun at the end of the day .
