1. The earth systems affect each other in numerous ways, be it destructive or constructive in a way, like with drought, changes in the atmosphere can severely affect the geo and biospheres. 2. An understanding of environmental science can help us in handling natural disasters as we can know the effects and what we can do to help those affected by it. 3. Being that a lot of climate change is happening due to humans polluting the planet for one reason or another, efforts for mass clean energy would be a start and helping places humans have already mostly destroyed to recover would be incredibly good for everyone. (Hopefully soon, things like mining can be done via asteroids, but that's a long time off.)
