  • An explanation of how the Internet has changed communication. Make sure to use at least one specific example.

In my opinion, the internet has changed communication because this generation does more of electronical communication, instead of verbal communication. Before the internet was created, verbal communication was the most popular way to communicate. Now that we have technology, there is less of verbal communication.

  • Define Immediacy, Permanence and Lack of Control as they pertain to the Internet

Immediacy is the how instant a post goes onto a social media site. Permanence is how a post will stay on the internet forever. Lack of control is something that is out of your hands.

  • An explanation of how Immediacy, Permanence and Lack of Control affect both our offline and our online identities and lives. Include at least one example.4

These three types of social injustices affect our online lives because it could affect how people apply for jobs because if you look that person up, you will see the things that they have posted, and also what other people have posted about that person. They affect offline life because what people see on the internet, they believe and your reputation is ruined.

  • What are two ways that you can actively manage and protect your identity and your reputation online? (one of each)

One way you can protect your reputation is to not have any social media sites. Another way you can protect your reputation is to post responsibly.

  • Answer the question: “Does the Internet have rules?” Use at least one specific example.

The internet does not have rules but certain websites do not allow certain content on their website.

  • Define cyberbullying in your own words.

Cyberbullying is being bullied by technology, usually done on social media.

  • Describe at least 2 kinds of cyberbullying and why they are considered cyberbullying

  • Harassment-is intimidation of a person by posting them continuosly, saying things to damage their reputation, and or spamming them

  • Flaming- Flaming is similar to harassment, but it is insulting a person usually involving profanity


  • Provide advice for: victims, bullies and bystanders of cyberbullying

My advice for victims of cyberbullying is to talk to someone so the problem will not escalade or delete all of their social media pages. My advice for bullies is to put yourself in the victim’s shoes, and see how you would feel if you were being bullied. My advice for bystanders is to speak up and help the victim if they see them getting bullied.

                            -Post things that you wouldn’t mind your boss seeing
