It's LITTY!

Posted by Kyrah Myles in Physics · Gray · E on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at 8:33 am

We chose to create party caps. We decided that creating “Lit Caps” would be a great idea, because it represents me and Dorien’s relationship as best friends; its lit. Dorien is also known for wearing variety of hats, therefore we thought it was a good idea to put our personal likings in our project.

The room that I will be recreating is my granny's living room. I would like to recreate the moment I witnessed my little brother take his first steps. We were in my granny's living room when my brother was crawling all around the floor. He began to pull himself up on the table. We didn't really began to notice him trying to walk at first because he has always done that. I so happened to turn around and noticed that he was walking. I was so excited that I was at a lost of words. The words, "Look he's walking!", began to depart from my lips and my parents and grandparents turned around and they couldn't believe t. Their baby was walking. That moment was a moment that I could never forget. Three personal items that I will include in this piece is the couch he walked to (where my parents were sitting), the lamp that almost fell on him, and the table he pulled up on when he began to walk. Three personal items that I will include is a quote on the wall, a bottle on the table, and and a rattle on the floor.

KDSSG to the Internet

Posted by Kyrah Myles in Technology- Freshmen · Hertz · a1 on Monday, December 12, 2016 at 9:07 am
  • An explanation of how the Internet has changed communication. Make sure to use at least one specific example.

In my opinion, the internet has changed communication because this generation does more of electronical communication, instead of verbal communication. Before the internet was created, verbal communication was the most popular way to communicate. Now that we have technology, there is less of verbal communication.

  • Define Immediacy, Permanence and Lack of Control as they pertain to the Internet

Immediacy is the how instant a post goes onto a social media site. Permanence is how a post will stay on the internet forever. Lack of control is something that is out of your hands.

  • An explanation of how Immediacy, Permanence and Lack of Control affect both our offline and our online identities and lives. Include at least one example.4

These three types of social injustices affect our online lives because it could affect how people apply for jobs because if you look that person up, you will see the things that they have posted, and also what other people have posted about that person. They affect offline life because what people see on the internet, they believe and your reputation is ruined.

  • What are two ways that you can actively manage and protect your identity and your reputation online? (one of each)

One way you can protect your reputation is to not have any social media sites. Another way you can protect your reputation is to post responsibly.

  • Answer the question: “Does the Internet have rules?” Use at least one specific example.

The internet does not have rules but certain websites do not allow certain content on their website.

  • Define cyberbullying in your own words.

Cyberbullying is being bullied by technology, usually done on social media.

  • Describe at least 2 kinds of cyberbullying and why they are considered cyberbullying

  • Harassment-is intimidation of a person by posting them continuosly, saying things to damage their reputation, and or spamming them

  • Flaming- Flaming is similar to harassment, but it is insulting a person usually involving profanity

  • Provide advice for: victims, bullies and bystanders of cyberbullying

My advice for victims of cyberbullying is to talk to someone so the problem will not escalade or delete all of their social media pages. My advice for bullies is to put yourself in the victim’s shoes, and see how you would feel if you were being bullied. My advice for bystanders is to speak up and help the victim if they see them getting bullied.

  • Your Top 5 tips for using the Internet

                       -Post responsibly

-Post/comment positive things that could makes someone’s day

                             - Do not make a page if you are planning on trolling (which is another form of cyberbullying

-Post things that you wouldn’t mind your boss seeing

                           - Do not post anything that will hurt others reputation

LEARN-CREATE-LEAD

Posted by Kyrah Myles in English 1 · Bentum · C on Friday, December 2, 2016 at 10:17 am

Creativity while learning is a way for me to memorize what I have learned. Being creative is one of my strong nesses. When I am creative, ideas start to flow through my head and I love to make my ideas happen. I tend to learn and adapt to a learning environment by being creative, sharing ideas, and making ideas come to life. If my learning environment was not creative and filled with great ideas, I would not adapt to my learning environment as well as I would if the learning environment was creative. I think that being creative is apart of adjusting to high school. High school is mostly revolve around projects that require a student to be creative with work. Most teachers would not accept projects if they do not show creativity.  Creativity is a great way to live life. Most people say that they “are not creative,” but the truth is that they actually are. People are creative when they choose their outfits, when they plan parties, etc. Creativity is something that comes naturally.

Seattle Seahawks compare football to the civil rights movement.

Posted by Kyrah Myles in Technology- Freshmen · Hertz · a1 on Monday, November 7, 2016 at 9:04 am

http://www.inc.com/will-yakowicz/the-top-social-media-fails-2015.html

In January, the NFL's Seattle Seahawks beat the Green Bay Packers to earn a trip to their second consecutive Super Bowl. The day after that win happened to be Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, so inexplicably the Seahawks decided to compare their struggle for a championship to the struggle for equal rights that African-Americans have gone through. View image on Twitter. The example of immediacy in this situation is how fast the Seattle Seahawks decided to compare them losing a game to the struggle of how blacks didn’t have equal rights. I feel as if that it was very immature, unnecessary, and disrespectful to compare the struggle of equal rights to a game. The example of permanency is that the decision that the team decided to make to compare their lost of a game to a major problem, will always be known; it will be left as a disgrace, embarrassing to all blacks, and disrespectful. This is an example of lack of control because when the team sent this out, it was reposted multiple times; even after deleted. This article shows that you shouldn’t compare simple things, like a lost game, to a major problem, like the struggle of blacks’ equal rights.
