Q1 Sustainable Business and Resource Management Benchmark (2018-2019)

Essential Questions: 1. How do the earth systems affect each other? Each system interacts with every other system. For example, when our biosphere allows us to grow produce in one region, our atmosphere is forced to carry the produce from the farm area to the market, which uses fossil fuels. 2. What efforts can we make to create a sustainable future? Learning more about the systems used to provide us with the services/goods that we depend on each day will help us to be more careful. Recycling, reusing and preserving our resources will make a lasting change. My Reaction: This project has forced me to look deeper into the supermarket industry than I otherwise would have. I have learned just how much goes on from the moment produce is harvested to the moment we pick it up off the shelf in the store. We had to think hard about what would make our 3D model of a new store sustain the industry more-so than what our normal markets look like now.
