Quarter 1 Art Project!
This project was about creating a self portrait art piece and I found it very interesting and cool, because the teacher showed us some examples of what we should be doing and they looked very enticing to me.
At first I didn’t know what I was going to do because I never looked at myself as a good artist.
After a little bit of brainstorming, I came up with an idea to draw my face and add symbols or things that I care about the most or things that are always on my mind. The first thing that came to mind was the idea about the Jamaican flag in the face, I did that because I'm from Jamaica and that’s where I spend most of my life so it has a strong effect on the type of person that I am.
The more I drew, the more ideas started coming to my head and that’s when I added things that I love the most to the piece which were; music,fashion and soccer. What I loved about this was adding the different colors to balance out after painting the flag black green and yellow because those are really bright
Colors. If I could do anything different, I would draw my face with little or no facial structure because I do have a fat face, but otherwise from that I like my portrait.
