1.) Because it is the earth systems that make up the earth itself, they often interact. Whenever water evaporates or when moles dig in the ground or when large storms tear down trees, multiple different spheres interact. 2.) By understanding environmental science you get more context for what causes natural disasters and how they affect almost everything around them. 3.) By making sure the factors that cause natural disasters are limited and their effects are properly prepared for then the environment can be protected better. I always learned about what causes and effects are related to natural disasters but never considered what we as a society can do to prepare for them.
