Social Media Survival Guide

I really don’t have an online identity. So when people go to look me up I might appear as a really private person. Or that I’m not a real social person. I think people perceive me as someone who really doesn’t care about social media or doesn’t like it. But when you look up my sister you would find me. And the stuff you see about me online would perceive that I obsess with myself. My online identity from my sister’s name is not private because it’s a lot of pictures of myself and my friends.  I consider who is going to see it and what they are going to think when they see it. I think this things because I want have a positive and social online identity. For me the pros for sharing on online is that more people will notice me or see more stuff about me. And you get more attention which I like. The cons of sharing on social is that anyone can see it. Like if you post something you just want you friends to see not your family and your family see it anyways. When you might have disagreement online with someone so you want to get back at them you expose them. You don’t think nothing of it because you’re in that moment and you can hurt them immediately without thinking about it. When you post something you really don’t have a lot of control over it and you don’t know who’s gonna see it or screenshot. Stuff you posted on the internet stays on the internet you never know who have a copy of what you posted. So when someone tries to hire you and they do a social media background check I think it’s okay for them to do that. The employer needs to know who they are hiring for the job.Free speech means you have the right to express you opinions without being punish or censor. Some people think they have free speech when they post some things online. But you can’t say something that puts people in harm. You can say your feelings or your opinions without receiving a punishment for it. A internet troll is someone is start problems on the internet. The goals of internet troll is to hurt your feelings or get a reaction out of you. What we can do to stop trolls is just ignore them until they go away. The pros of posting anonymously online are that no body won't know who you are and you can say whatever you want. The cons are that what you post say with you forever. My tips for people who use social media are be yourself , be cautious of what you put online and create a positive image.

I thought you did well with going in depth with your statements. I also don't really use social media but my siblings do and sometimes have me in it. How do you feel that your sister is the one that posts a lot of social media about you
