For my capstone I decided to teach the importance of balancing technology usage and physical activities to the 5th grade class. Technology is changing our world and as a young adult that is witnessing the world change to a more technological society I have to put more emphasis on being physically active so I don't develop health issues due to staying in the house watching tv, playing video games, etc. But instead of holding that knowledge I decided to spread it to the youth by teaching from my own experiences so in the future the soon to be young adults will know how to balance technology with physical activity.

Sustainable Business and Resource Management

Earth systems affect each other because they all rely on each other in one way or another. In our case, the biosphere and the geosphere affect our business and it being sustainable because if our restaurant treats the geosphere and biosphere like trash it will result in the downfall of the communities that surround the restaurant. So for the restaurant to last in the community, it needs to treat the surrounding area with respect. Our business doesn't really deal with natrual disasters but we can severly hurt the environment by using up tons of energy and resources. So to make our restaurant sustainable we will recycle, limiting pollution, and manage our resources. If more and more restaurants follow our plan things like plastic straws(which severely hurts the environment) will become a thing in the past. By doing this project it opened my eyes and showed how restaurants can hurt the environment if they are not careful with their management of resources and uses of plastic.

I created this work because I saw my peers do it and it looked cool too me. I was hoping to make a cool basketball design. I feel like it communicates my passion for the sport through art. I achieved a new way to create art in a new way so of I want to show someone else hot too create what I did I can show them with ease. My current work relates to my previous because they both relate to basketball. In this work I drew a ball and a crown. Then my last work I drew Stephen Curry’s sneaker. My art work can compare to graphic designers that do basketball art.


I made my art by finding ouy the design that I wanted to make. Next I traced my design on a piece of paper. Then I got blue paper and the pad that you cut on. After that I put the white paper over the blue paper then I put the blue paper over the pad. Then I re traced the design on the pad with the blue paper. Then after that I began to cut out the design that I drew but heating up the pad with the iron. My work reflects my life as a basketball player. It can inspire more people too make basketball art. Of you don’t do a specific part of the tenique right you wil mess up the complete design. I learned how too carve designs into a pad. In conclusion I learned how to show my apssion using a new form of art

Curry One

I decided to choose this project because I already knew what I wanted to draw beforehand. I was going to make a drawing of the Curry Ones. I communicates that I like Stephen Curry and his sneakers. I achieved learning to make drawing more realistic. I learned how to make and give the sneaker texture to make it more realistic. My current work doesn’t relate too my past work because I didn’t draw an image I just painted. I think an artist that my work related too is Claire Tabouret. She is detailed in her work and I feel like I am to. First I looked for the image that I wanted. After that I started to create the image by tracing the body then I filled in the details by myself. My only inspiration for this drawing is basketball. This image reflects my life and my world because basketball is both of those for me. The art work could inspire people too make drawings like mines. I don’t really have a teqnique I just trace the bodies then fill in the details. In conclusion what inspired me too make this image is my love for basketball. I made this image after my favorite basketball player and his sneakers. My method was too trace the body and fill in the details and it worked for me.

Collin's Color Wheel

​I made this because I thought it would be a good way to convey my idea. I knew I wanted to do something with basketball but I didn't know how to make it into a color wheel. But when I looked up basketball color wheel I found what I wanted to do. I think that they will think that this perfectly fits me. People express their feeling and their passions through art so I showed my passion I have done basketball art works in the past and this can fit into a series. I looked on google for my pictures. No artist have really influenced me in the past to make any art projects. Only basketball influenced me.

Basketball is my life long dream.

Basketball has been a big part of my life for the pat ten years. It keeps me foucused and in shape. It also gives me peace when I'm mad and joy when I'm bored. It also takes a lot of charecter to be a basketball player if you want to lead a team. I started young in middle school when I was the captin of the team. It was very frustating when we took big losses but it also helped me keep my cool in difficult situations on the court and in life. That is why I have a lot of basketball rferences in my room like the back board and NBA letters on the celling. As you can see playing profesional basketball player is my life long dream.

For my electric art sculpture I made a light up basketball rim. Basketball is a big part of my life. I’ve been playing basketball for the past 10 years. So when I saw that this project was about lighting up something important in your life this immediately came to my mind.

Its All About Deception

​ Its all about deception. The word deception comes from the word deceive which means "(of a person cause (someone) to believe something that is not true, typically in order to gain some personal advantage." The phrase comes from my coach, coach Jim. We were talking about attacking the defense and the key is to deceive. Lie about what they expect you to do and do the opposite and gain their "personal advantage." That is why the words are backwards and upside down to create a look lies to you about its meaning. Also I spelled deception wrong so only the true deceivers can figure out its meaning. 

I chose that place because when people walk up the stair way they can see it and it will make them look twice. This graffiti does not change my thought of art but it enhances it and shows me a new side of art that I never thought could be expressed.

Collin's Social Media Survival Guide

For me I only want to be online if I’m being recruited or doing something. But I’m only online due to my Instagram account. But other than that I’m not online. But if people were to see me online or on my Instagram they would see that I love basketball and I am intelligent and know what I want to have in my life. But enough about me this is a guide for you and how to survive in the social media world.

Pros and Cons of sharing online

Pros

  • You can share fun information to your friends

  • You can let anyone know how you're feeling

  • You can get advice/help

  • You can save lives if you need to

  • You can raise awareness


Cons

  • Anyone can find you

  • People can hack into your account

  • People can stalk you

  • You can lose vital information

  • You can lose your job if you post something inappropriate

How this can happenen  

You have no control of where your post goes. People can screenshot and share your post to who ever they want. Your employer can find out your account and see what you're up to. Also a big thing now is memes. Someone can meme you're post and it can go viral. Like Kyra Pringle. She was a little two year old that had a genetic disorder. So her mom posted a birthday picture online not knowing that it was going to be photoshopped memed and made fun of. So be careful with your posts. People who do this are called internet trolls. Internet trolls are people who start arguments when the post upsetting things just to get attention from people. You can easily stop internet trolling by not responding. Their goal is to get a response. So don’t pay them any mind.

Another thing is not everyone wants to know every aspect of your life. Like “ I just finished going to the bathroom. Now I’m going to pick up my kids.” Also another big thing is that if you comment or post  something rude, disrespectful, or racist you're employer can fire you for that. Or they may not even hire you if you didn’t get the job yet. You might think that's crazy but they have the right to do it. Would you want someone that is racist and discriminates minorities to be a police officer. I didn’t think so. So I think it’s a good thing that jobs do social media background checks.

So in conclusion these are my three tips to not get into trouble online:

  1. Don’t respond to internet trolls

  2. Don't post or like inappropriate content online

  3. Don’t post every little aspect of your life
