SLA Beeber driving their students to excellence - Acel Moore Journalism Workshop
Most high schools all around the state are teaching their students the basic curriculum that'll just get them across the stage for graduation. But, at the Science Leadership Academy at Beeber in Philadelphia, some teachers in the Career and Technical Education program (CTE), are preparing their students for so much more than just graduation.

Dorien's Declassified School Survival Guide to The Internet
Slide 2: An explanation of how the Internet has changed communication. Make sure to use at least one specific example.
The internet has changed communication drastically, now in today all you have to do the send a letter by the push of a button. Just like Facebook, you can just press poke and it will notify the person you that you poked in less a minute.
Define Immediacy, Permanence and Lack of Control as they pertain to the Internet
-Immediacy is when some happens suddenly.
-Permanence is when some is permanent, can’t be removed, or taken back.
-Lack of Control is when someone else does something (post or tag) and you can’t do anything to stop or removed it.
An explanation of how Immediacy, Permanence and Lack of Control affect both our offline and our online identities and lives. Include at least one example.
Immediacy, will make your reputation go down in flames if you’d post some horrible and one retweet will ruin you.
Lack of Control, someone retweeting your tweet is out of your control and then if someone would have put your name on it then people off the internet see it and think of you differently.
Permanence, you can say something to someone and they could never forgive you or then the mean and hurtful comment can stay on the internet.
What are two ways that you can actively manage and protect your identity and your reputation online? (one of each)
-By not posting things that will hurt you or someone else as a person.
-And my watch what other say in your comments or what others tag you in.

LEARN-CREATE-LEAD
Creativity
Creativity while learning makes me go crazy like I have super power or something. When a teacher tells me to be creative, so many ideas always pops up in my head, it’s like an infinite space full of thoughts, ideas, feelings, theories, and opinions. I love when I can be creative, it gives me a way to show or expressing more of who I am through my work. Creativity is the like the use of your imagination, when I use my creative juice that’s what it’s all about, my imagination. My mom always say I get my creativity from her. In SLA it’s always about exceeding and going out of the perimeter, that with my space full thoughts will do achieve great things. It’s a little bad for me because it makes stress too. Also sometimes when they give us project and tell us to be creative, I feel like when I come up with some many ideas I think doubt myself which makes not achieve what I really want to, cause I’ll think that I can’t or won’t be able to do it. I really need to change my mind some things about because in this school specifically i know I’ll have to use my juices to the maximum. 0 to 1,000. Even like this assignment, Writing is showing my creativity of the creativity. I know I will be able to do great things with the powers of my mind. BE CREATIVE!!!
The Story of David Molak
Website:http://puresight.com/Real-Life-Stories/david-molak-2000-2016-puresight.html
Summary: January, 2016, David Molak, a fitness enthusiast, Spurs fan, and an Eagle Scout, a sophomore at Alamo Heights High School in Texas, hung himself in his family's backyard because of cyberbullying. There were about 6 to 10 bullies, bringing him down with insults and comments on social media and text message. The bullies really never had a real reason to bully him, it was all out of jealousy. They might’ve been jealous because he had an attractive girlfriend, or maybe because he was a good kid minding his business. His brother said that one night he was added to a group chat and was made fun and was removed from it 2 minutes later. His brother said “In today’s age, bullies don’t push you into lockers, they don’t tell their victims to meet them behind the school’s dumpster after class. They cower behind user names and fake profiles from miles away constantly berating and abusing good, innocent people.”
Immediacy, meaning the quickness of action. Immediacy played a role in this because of when David Molak was added to the group chat, it was quick, and everyone in the chat started saying all bad things to David. He couldn’t even say anything back, after, they just removed him.
Lack of Control, meaning not having enough power to do something. Lack of control played a role in this, also when they added him in the group chat, he never asked to be in the group chat. He didn’t know he was going to be added, so he couldn’t prevented any of that.
Permanence, meaning the state of remaining unchanged. Permanence has played a role, when the kids that bullied David text all the mean things they said to him in the group chat. They might've removed him from the chat, but the messages were still sent and somewhere it's still up.
I think that kids should not bully others because they don't know how they are thinking, some kids can take the bullying more than others. Or if you are getting bullied tell someone, that's what everyone says, but telling someone could really save your life, or another.
