3 years ago when Brandon was in japan. He was celebrating the golden weeks , during the night, they have some events, on the street there has a lot of lanterns blooming together, that was the first time Brandon feeling marvel at circuit. The second time is during junior-high school graduation trip, at the last night, everyone let the daylight flow up, about 5 hundred daylight light together, it was magnificent, also, it contain the memories in my own country.

Electric Art - My Pillow

Posted by Zakirah Boyd in Physics · Gray · E on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at 9:01 am

I decided to use my pillow because I like to sleep. My pillow plays a big part in my life and deserves to be presented. This pillow tells the world that I appreciate the little thing. Nobody really acknowledge how powerful a pillow can be. I love my pillow and wanted to show the class how much I love my pillow and sleep.

For our benchmark we used a Van sneaker and made the laces using the lights. We chose to do this because it represents that we like sneakers, and we thought it would be cool to use lights as laces in a sneaker. A good use for this could be if your walking at night and you can't see the lit up laces can provide light so that you can see where you are walking.

Light up iPhone case

Posted by Lucce Guido in Physics · Gray · E on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at 8:52 am

I chose this sculpture because I use my phone everyday, and many times a day. Sometimes at night it’s hard to be able to see things around you while your phone is on, and sometimes it hurts your eyes when it’s the light source, that’s why I put lights on my phone case. So that when it’s dark and the phone is hurting my eyes, I can provide another light source to lessen the effect of brightness from my screen.

Pink lights for J!

Posted by Jahdiyyah Matthews in Physics · Gray · E on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at 8:50 am

I picked to do a J because it is the first letter of my name and I loved my name because it is unique. I used pink lights because I never used pink or bright colors so I wanted to do something different.

Electric Art Project

We chose to build a duck because building a duck was the first thing that came to mind. This project would challenge as building wise and give us a chance to push ourselfs. We felt that building a duck would exceed the project expectations. We thought it played into our everyday lives in a way we could take very much pride into it. We will be very proud of this from and for a long time.

Physics Project

Posted by Darius Smith in Physics · Gray · E on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at 8:44 am

For my physics project, I decided to make a figure lights up and still be able to spin.  I chose to do this because I believed that it would be a simple task to do and if I did it right, it would get me a good grade.  It turns out that it wasn’t as simple as I thought.  I ended up running into many casualities such as not being able to spin the spinner.  It took a lot of thought but I finally figure it out.  I decided to glue a stick onto the spinner so that I could hold it and be able to spin it.  What this says about me is that I get bored very easily and I always require something to do or else, I won’t know what to do with myself.

We built this specific design because we wanted to challenge to test our engineering skills. We wanted the design to be based off of a superhero that we both liked, It was flash. We wanted to paint it flash colors but we only had blue lights, so we went with Flash’s enemy Zoom. So the colors changed from the yellow lighting bolt with all red, to blue lighting bolt with all black. Then it was time to put our engineering skills to work.
First we focused on the hardest part, which was making a circle out of a rectangle piece of wood. We used a bucket to trace two circles out of the rectangle wood and startinging cutting it out with a Japanese Handsaw. We had to cut it to make it look like a octagon and to make sure we didn't go past the line. Once we cut as close to the line as possible it was time to sand it down, first we did it manually then we noticed it would take a long time so we used the Sand belt which sped up the process a lot. When we were done with the two circles we had to put them together but have a space in between so that we would have enough space to put the lights around. Jeremiah drilled four holes into the circles and used nuts and bolts to hold it tightly together. Then we used the laser cutter to cut out the two lighting bolts.
Then it was time to move on to the stand, This part was all Kenny. Kenny picked out the wood we needed to build the stand. Kenny took measurements of the wood so it would look nice, then he had to cut the pieces out. First he used a Hot Glue Gun to start the stand, but then moved to wood glue. Then we wanted the stand to open up so we could access the battery and wires. When the stand was done, we had to paint it. Kenny painted the whole thing while Jeremiah put the series current together. The wires were hard at first because he kept cutting them by accident. But it turned out to be impressive. We had trouble with putting it all together, There was too much space in between the stand to hold the circles with the symbol on it. First we tried using nuts and bolts again, but we could not screw the nuts on the bolt so we asked for help….Then the Makerspace manager said “ try the nail gun. We put some wood in between the stand enough so that it can hold the circle when we use the nail gun. Once we were done with the nail gun it was complete !!! But Jeremiah wanted to add the final touches to it. He used the laser cutter to engrave the creators names. And it said “ The Legeendary Creators
                                                                                                               Kenny N. & Jeremiah W.”

We chose to build a duck because Thalia(me) instagram name is magicalgoose and her Snapchat name is yuckydaduck. Also we chose to do this project because Allison finds Thalia social media name funny. Building a duck was the first thing that came to mind. This project would challenge as building wise and give us a chance to push ourself.
