For my capstone, I decided to write a few short horror stories. I used the sources in my bibliography with caution, while I wanted to find inspiration I also wanted to balance that with my own ideas. One of my stories titled, "An Old Friend" (which I started in 9th grade) has been rewritten, read over many times, and now even retitled. However, I was never satisfied with the story until I completed it for my senior capstone. My mentor pointed me in the right direction and that feedback carried over to the other stories I wrote. It was hard for me to balance my time for writing these stories that required full attention and creativity while also keeping up with projects, assignments, etc., as well as taking time out to collaborate with my mentor. However, I found it more convenient to go to my peers for revisions than to set up meetings with my mentor. To maintain a creative mindset while writing these stories I took breaks in between writing them. This was a way of making sure I didn't replicate the same feelings or characters in each story. The process of coming up with characters wasn't something that required me to use external sources, they came to me as I went, and then I read over my story and added small details in that would give the reader more of a background to look at for the characters. I appreciate the feedback from my mentor, as well as my peers on my short stories, it helped me out a lot.


​This is an excerpt from my An Old Friend story that was mentioned in my abstract. 

Leo remembered when he first met Ronald in the Better Life Orphanage that wasn’t too far from the house he and his mother used to live in. Ronald’s parents had left him in front of the orphanage as a kid, his parents left a note in the small cardboard box with blankets he was in saying that they couldn’t afford to take care of him, and that he’d have a better life this way. The people who worked at the orphanage read it to him once he could fully understand what had happened. Ronald ripped the note up and trashed it, crying and throwing a tantrum. Leo sat a table over from him watching him lose control, then woman he always saw talking to him came over, after she calmed him down she went to talk to other kids. Leo got up and asked him what was wrong, Ronald explained his situation to him and the boys connected on not having parents in their lives. A family came in to the orphanage, Leo recognized them and went over to Ronald, “Look Ronald, that’s the family that wants to adopt me.” Ronald’s eyes lit up, then he turned his back to Leo. “What’s wrong Ronald?” asked Leo, “You’re going to leave me here alone, just like my parents did.” Ronald said. “No, I’m not leaving you alone, you have plenty of people here to talk to.” said Leo. “It’s fine just go man”, Ronald said as he flagged Leo off. The family came back monthly to check on Leo but suddenly they stopped coming, he later found out that the man’s wife had died and he was no longer interested in adopting a child. “Mr. Theodore’s wife has passed away Leo, I think you’re going to be here with us for a bit longer than expected. Leo remembered the words hitting his heart, the man and his wife were so kind to him, they made him feel loved again. He was waiting for months to get out of the orphanage, it was filled with troubled children, bedbugs, some of the kids he shared a room with were constantly itching with head lice and the strange men that worked there often made him feel uncomfortable.


How To Make a Tv in Tinkercad

Tinkercad Instructional Video Script

Hi, welcome to my instructional video on how to make a small tv in tinkercad!


First you are going to go to the “geometric” category and click on the red box. Then, you’re going to shrink it down to 10 mm in height.


Next, you will stretch it out to about 80 mm in length. Now, widen the shape until you see 80 mm. Then, click the shape and take your mouse to color under “Inspector” at the top, now select black.


Now, here’s where it get’s a bit complicated. Now you will click the shape and press “ctrl” and press “c” at the same time, which will copy the shape you just made. Now press “ctrl” and “v”. This will paste the shape, and now you’ll have two of the same shapes.


Rotate the second shape until it sits at a “90 degree” angle. Now, drag the shape up so it overlaps the first shape. Then, press “ctrl” and “v”, another shape will appear, drag this to the side across from the overlapping shape.


Make sure it’s even with the shape across. Now, click the shape you just placed and press “ctrl c” then press “ctrl v”. Drag the shape between the two last two shapes you placed. Turn the shape until it’s at a 90 degree angle and then click color and change the shape to white. Inspect both sides of the standing black shapes to see if you see any white piercing through them. If so then click the white shape and hold shift, then drag the shape down until you see “75 mm”. Now, move the shape to the very edge of the middle shape lying beneath it.


Now turn you screen so you can see the back of all of these shapes, go over to the “geometric” column and click the box. Place the box between the black wall shapes.


Now hold shift and drag the shape up into you see “70 mm” Now turn your screen to the front of the shapes, and go over to the geometric column again, click “box”.

Bring the box in front of the shape, then drag it up until it is  “20 mm” off the ground. Then, stretch the shape length to about “25 mm” Now make the length “65 mm”, click color and make the shape black. Turn the screen to the side of the shapes, make sure you can’t see the top of the screen (white shape) from that angle, now turn the screen back to the center. You now have a tv!


Reflection:

For my project I chose to create a TV in tinkercad. I'm not very experienced in tinkercad. I thought it would make sense to do my last project using tinkercad to get more experience out of it. It's pretty simple to use as long as you have the basics down. You also need to know what keys do what. You need to know where to find the shape you want. I used WeVideo to voice over on this clip. However, WeVideo wants money after a very short amount of time. I had to figure something out, and this was the outcome. I couldn't get the second half of the video due to WeVideo's money trap.

Just so you know I DO NOT recommend WeVideo it isn't very useful unless you're willing to spend money on it.

Spiral of Theodorus

First I used a protractor to make a dot in the middle where the spiral would surround. I used the protractor to line up the triangles to the point at a 90 degree angle every time, I used the Pythagorean theorem to check that my triangles were correct. I made each of the triangles 1 inch toward the 90 degree angle which would then connect it to the next triangle.

Pablo neruda nació Ricardo Eliecer Neftalí Reyes Basoalto el 12 de julio de 1904. Nació en parral región del maule de chile. En 1950 Pablo Neruda ganó el Premio Internacional de la paz. En 1950 pablo neruda ganó el Premio Internacional de la paz. Una de sus obras más famosas es Veinte poema de amor y una canción desesperada, publicado en 1924. Pablo sirvió como Senador por el partido Comunista de Chile. Pablo murió el 23 de septiembre de 1973 a los 69 años. Murió de cáncer de próstata avanzado.

Nací el 25 de noviembre de 1998, en Filadelfia. Nací Devin Amir Brian Styles. Mi primer logro fue exitosamente recordando un poema entero para mi preescolar delante de todos. Después de un importante éxito que tuve fue mi paso día de cuarto a quinto. En el sexto grado, alguien me chocó en el patio, resultando con darme un golpe leve. En el octavo grado, tengo apendicitis. tenía que someterse a una cirugía, estaba en el hospital por una o dos semanas. Después de mi mayor logro hasta el momento, era graduarse de octavo grado en la escuela secundaria. luego, el mismo año también hizo el equipo de fútbol.

Era el crepúsculo de la iguana.

Desde la arcoirisada crestería

su lengua como un dardo

se hundía en la verdura,

el hormiguero monacal pisaba

con melodioso pie la selva,

el guanaco fino como el oxígeno

iba calzando botas de oro,

mientras la llama abría cándidos

ojos en la delicadeza

del mundo lleno de rocío.

Los monos trenzaban un hilo

interminablemente erótico

el poema parece que tiene un significado muy profundo, sin embargo al mismo tiempo es muy confuso. Parece que podría estar hablando sobre lo que se siente enamorado, o lo que siente atravesando una ruptura. también menciona mucho de la naturaleza, así que este poema podría ser simplemente admirando la belleza de la naturaleza. podría estar hablando acerca de sentirse uno con la naturaleza, así que podría ser un tema importante aquí "la paz".
