Light up iPhone case

Posted by Lucce Guido in Physics · Gray · E on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at 8:52 am
I chose this sculpture because I use my phone everyday, and many times a day. Sometimes at night it’s hard to be able to see things around you while your phone is on, and sometimes it hurts your eyes when it’s the light source, that’s why I put lights on my phone case. So that when it’s dark and the phone is hurting my eyes, I can provide another light source to lessen the effect of brightness from my screen.

Axel lives in an apartment in the sky, that's why you can see clouds from his living room, he was eating breakfast, drinking his coffee out of the cup he got from his girlfriend Laura, and looking out on the sky and clouds, he loves clouds. He was gonna be late for work so he had to leave his plate and coffee cup on the table, he also accidentally left the door open, his door is made of bamboo and he made it from his bamboo garden on top of his roof. So far he has read all the books on his bookshelf and he’s trying to find more. The chair Axel got from my grandfather, he made it after he got back from World War I.

Slide 1

  • An explanation of how the Internet has changed communication. Make sure to use at least one specific example.

  • Internet has changed communication in a way to make it much easier, but also much more complicated. Causing people to text and drive or pay attention to their device more than their job, school or family.

Slide 2

  • Define Immediacy, Permanence and Lack of Control as they pertain to the Internet.

  • Immediacy means that once you post something it’s immediately out there and everyone has it.

  • Lack of Control means something you post on the internet is in someone or something else's control and you can’t make changes to it.

  • Permanency means that once you post something it’s out there and you can’t take it back.

Slide 3

  • An explanation of how Immediacy, Permanence and Lack of Control affect both our offline and our online identities and lives. Include at least one example.

  • Immediacy controls our online life by something being posted out there spreading fast, it controls our offline life by people knowing what you’ve said and either gratifying you or shaming you about what you posted. An example of this is: Someone posts a picture of themselves saying they are pretty/handsome and bully them by saying that they are egotistical or self centered.

  • Permanence controls our online life by something being posted and being out there forever, it controls our offline life by people bullying/gratifying the person for posting what they posted. An example of this is: Someone posts a picture of their dog and people may comment “Your dog is so cute” you would than be gratified by something that you posted

  • Lack of control controls our online life by something you post on the internet is in someone or something else's control and you can’t make changes to it, it controls our offline life by someone maybe having your post and they can do whatever they want with it. An example of this is: You post a picture of yourself in a bathing suit and someone takes it and photoshops it, or spread it around and humiliate you

Slide 4

  • What are two ways that you can actively manage and protect your identity and your reputation online? (one of each)

  • 1. The first way to protect your identity is to be cautious about what you post and who sees it.

  • 2. The second way to protect your identity is to be very careful of what you post, it could very easily ruin your reputation.

Slide 5

  • Answer the question: “Does the Internet have rules?” Use at least one specific example.

  • I believe the Internet does have rules because you can’t do whatever you want to do on it, there are laws, you can be arrested very easily if you do the wrong things on the Internet. An example of this is: You lie about someone and their personal information in a comment on social media, tarnishing the person’s reputation and committing slander.

Slide 6

  • Define cyberbullying in your own words.

  • Cyber Bullying is harassment over social media or on electronic bullying

Slide 7

  • Describe at least 2 kinds of cyberbullying and why they are considered cyberbullying

  • Trolling: When someone posts something or comments on the internet with the purpose of making someone mad.

  • Outing: Posting someone's personal information on the internet in order to shame them.

Slide 8

  • Provide advice for: victims, bullies and bystanders of cyberbullying

Slide 9

  • Be cautious who you communicate to on the Internet, and never give any personal information away

Slide 10

  • Your Top 5 tips for using the Internet

  • Be safe, be cautious, keep things to yourself, don’t put your personal information out and  be kind

LEARN - CREATE - LEAD

Posted by Lucce Guido in English 1 · Bentum · C on Friday, December 2, 2016 at 10:17 am

Creativity while learning makes me feel like I’m the leader, it makes me feel empowered, it makes me feel like I can make it how I want, I think this is good in learning because people feel intimidated or more pressured when they are told to be creative, you can’t be told to do something creative, then it makes creativity contrived. Creativity is fun, inspiring, strengthening. It makes you feel amazing once you create something all by yourself. Creativity can’t be enforced. Sometimes people get pressured, they become intimidated, usually when they are forced to be creative, and they will steal creativity from someone else, they will take part of that person’s creativity and use it like their own, this is when creativity becomes about power. I think to keep creativity striving in learning people will have to have time, and they will have to feel good about what they are doing, they can’t be under pressure or under stress, that makes creativity hard, it makes it unhappy it needs to be something you want to do, something you look forward to doing, that way people want to do it. I consider myself quite creative, though I have been under stress and pressure before when I have had to be creative and it was gross, I felt trapped, I felt like a prisoner who has to bail themselves out with their own work, only then can they be free. I think creativity in learning is a blessing, something powerful, something beautiful.

Amanda Todd's life story

Posted by Lucce Guido in Technology- Freshmen · Hertz · a1 on Monday, November 7, 2016 at 9:06 am

On October 10, 2012 a girl named Amanda Todd committed suicide due to an immense amount of bullying on the internet and at school.

It started with her and her friends meeting new people on a webcam site on the internet, she said the people on the internet called her beautiful, perfect, stunning and they wanted her to flash them, and she eventually and unfortunately did. Not too long after she got a message on facebook from a guy who she didn’t even know and she didn’t think he knew her, he said “If you don’t put on a show for me i’ll send the picture of your boobs to everyone” and he knew her address, school, and names of the her friends and family.

On Christmas break there was a knock on her door at 4am, it was the police saying the photo was everywhere, after she heard this she spiraled into anxiety, depression, and ptsd, she started getting into drugs and alcohol when she moved and the ptsd and depression got worse, a year later someone followed her and all her friends, the person had her naked in his profile picture, she lost her friends and everything got worse again. She moved and again and it got a little better, she still didn’t have friends. She started talking to a guy and he liked her and led her on, but he had a girlfriend. One night he told her to come meet him and that his girlfriend was on vacation, so she did, and she regrets it, a week later she got a texts from his girlfriend saying she was coming to Amanda’s school with 15 other people, the girlfriend came and beat Amanda up, she was left alone.

She was so alone and sad she attempted suicide, but they saved her. On facebook she saw people saying that they wish she died, and thought she should kill herself. So she moved again started another school, but people kept harassing her, saying she should try killing herself again. She got depressed, anxious, she couldn’t go out or interact with people out of her house, she felt as though sh didn’t want to live anymore, so she took her life.

Immediacy - I think Immediacy plays into this because as soon as she showed herself, it spread everywhere and everyone saw it.

Permanency - I think Permanency plays into this because she keeps moving but people keep seeing it and keep harassing her.

Lack of Control - I think Lack of Control plays into this when she can’t take it down and everyone has it, an example of this is when the man posts her picture all over the internet and she had no control of it.
