Yosaris Torres Capstone

Posted by Yosaris Torres in Senior Capstone · Burrows-Stone · e1 on Monday, May 22, 2023 at 8:57 pm

My capstone project is a book club targeted at 2nd–8th graders. I targeted, younger kids because I wanted them to develop better reading habits. My first meeting was very cool and subtle; we introduced ourselves and did icebreakers. Then they filled a survey out with books they are interested in and the genres they are interested in. I did the club at the middle school I attended, and the principal helped tremendously. She helped pay for books and helped get students into my club. I learned that younger kids are really difficult to try to help. It was definitely a fun experience, but I would have done a couple things differently if I were to do it again.

Helping her figure out what genre's were and what they meant. I explained it to 2 students and after they explained to me what genre was and they seemed to have understand it.

Air pollution mini psa

We chose air pollution because it’s such a meaningful topic. It has a lot of concerning issues. We used Lorax in our video because we thought it was a better way to bring the video to a different level. We probably could have used our time more wisely, even though I felt like we did well. The most meaningful part of this project was probably the bloopers. Also, like Brandon said, this feels bittersweet because it’s our last project working together.

How can an understanding of environmental science aid in handling natural disasters? It gives us a better understanding, for example with wildfires , i didn’t understand why it happened but now i do. 3. What efforts can we make to create a sustainable future? Try our best not to use so much coal. Submiss
