Mariano Mattei Capstone
For my capstone, I decided to 3D model guitar parts (and possibly cut them out and put them together to form an actual playable guitar). From this experience, I gained a much deeper understanding of how to use the tools and the different options on Autodesk Fusion 360 (3D modeling program). Before I took on this project, I never knew half the amount of things that I do now. Doing this project also helped me gain the knowledge and experience that I needed to get certified in this program. This project impacts the school environment because it gives people inspiration on exactly what they can accomplish. Building a guitar is one of the most complicated tasks I have done in life, so if I can 3D model guitar parts, future students can 3D model things that they want as well. Although the guitar isn’t actually built, I am very proud of the effort that I put into it. I would spend hours upon hours each day learning how the program works and using that knowledge to model my guitar parts. However, I am very disappointed that I did not build the actual guitar. Because of this, if I were to take on this project again, I wouldn’t wait as long to cut the pieces out. I didn’t fully understand the process of cutting with the CNC Machine and I expected it to be a very quick process.
