It's been a rough a for years here a Sla beeber and though out my four years here I've accomplished so much, ending out with something meaningful I and two friends made a shelf for 5 graders the porous was to lay the foundation for there soon to come maker space where many young minds can bloom into creative minds This project was very important to me because it taught me a lesson about working with your community and not only just working with your community but also I learned that building something for the future generations to use and be seen for many years to come is also very interesting and rewarding for me as well because the Legacy that I left behind as far as a different various projects I worked on around the city and within my own school at times so building a shelf or through the 5th grade Makerspace with a big deal for me and I suggest to anyone else out there that is doing something that they love that they use that in channel that in a way in which is beneficial to everyone.

For my capstone I chose to partner with Alex and help people in need look more presentable. The way we did that was, Alex brung clippers to school and we set up a little barber shop in the Senior Cafe, so we could give out free haircuts. My part in this project was the advertising and pretty much the business parts that went into this. I made a flyer hung it up around the school so people would be aware of it happening and when it would happen. I took pictures and got the space so we could cut the hair. Our final product was us changing not groomed men into more professional looking men. We learned from this project how to basically run or own business. Of course there are more things that we could have done to make it more professional like have appointments, but it was just for kids at school.

For my senior capstone project me and my partner Sianni Wood decided to partner up The Covenant House with helping out the homeless youth. Our project is called Help me Help and this is who we reached our goal. I reached out to one of the workers who works and takes care of majority of the people who comes to the house for shelter. I asked is there anyway possible we could help and donating clothes was one of them. Sianni and I went around to each 11th grade advisory and asked if everyone could donate anything more matter how big or small. The class of 2020 came together and helped us make our plan come to life. We want to continue giving back for years to come. We used our capstone as a way to give back to the community and want SLA to do it for years to come. https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1dohgUxIHsb3svP0S8pG-El0F0rP9Wv3w4TIqMFZLWL0/edit?usp=sharing

My capstone was more of a class assignment, and to be honest what I had in mind, didn't go as planned. I was running around like a chicken lost their head but with the help of my mentor, it was less stressful. My engineering class was assigned to build whatever Ms. Hare needed for the school play. Each of us was separated into groups with a goal. My group and I were assigned to create canvas' that the backgrounds can be painted on, that's also very fast and easy to move. It took about a month and a half to get the final product we wanted. On top of this our class had to study and prepare for our NOCTI exam! Throughout this process we went through building it, taking it apart, and rebuilding it all over many times. There were plenty of times that all of us wanted to just quit because it was always something! But if there's anything that I learned from this building process was patience and unity that comes with not only the SLA core values but also in the Engineering Design Process. My days at SLA was like a rollercoaster, but I'll forever be grateful for this experience!

For my senior capstone here at SLA, I choose to do a mini health fair with my partner Sanai Stafford. When thinking of my capstone I wanted to focus on something that will always be remembered and something that involved what I wanted to do when I got older. I want to be a Nurse which is in the medical field. When thinking of a health fair there are different subtopics that can go into it. The 5 topics we chose were Eating Healthy Foods /Nutrition, Exercise, STDs/STIs, Mental Health, and Drugs/Alcohol. We chose these 5 topics because we thought these are the most important ones that involve teenagers. We created boards with many facts, statics, and information involving each topic. We set up our boards and presented to anyone that came to our presentation. At the end of it, you entered into a raffle to win either a $15 Wawa gift card or a $15 iTunes gift card. It took a long process because we had to keep moving back the dates and change certain stuff around. I also just wanted to let people know why health is so important and why you should take care of yourself. You want to prevent yourself from getting any diseases. Overall our final end product was a mini health fair. I learned things don’t always work out a plan but you still have to be confident that you’ll get it done.
