Lead PSA and whatnot ( ͡~ ͜ʖ ͡°)

Posted by Elijah Grier in Environmental Science · Sasso-Chryst · 3b on Friday, May 21, 2021 at 7:21 am

So this video is a basic overview on what lead poisoning is, it’s effects, where it’s found, and other general information on the topic. To be honest I chose to do this topic because I thought it’d be easy to research and complete...and it was lol. I think all around this project came out okay but it could’ve been better. One thing I could’ve done differently was add a bit more detail about how politics and the environment are involved in this situation. The most meaningful part of creating this PSA was finishing it because it feels like there’s a little less weight to the end of this quarter now.

1. Provide a summary of the contents of your video and a rationale for why YOU chose this topic, in paragraph form. - I have always been passionate about raising awareness on the topic of water pollution so when this project was presented, I knew just what to do. I wanted to do a storytime video so that I can introduce different types of sides to the situation. Based on my research, I chose activist (green), profitable companies (blue), low-income families (pink), congress (dark blue), dangerous diseases (gray), and the water system (yellow). Each of these parts is a part of this huge conversation on the topic of water pollution. I included the causes of water pollution as well as how many people are impacted. In doing this, I had hoped to provide information regarding the issue of water pollution. 2. What did you do well and what could you have done differently? - I believe I did well with talking about the issue in general as well as introducing different parts by color coordination. As for what could be done differently, I think I can lengthen the video to include more concepts of water pollution. 3. What was the most meaningful part of the experience of creating the PSA? - The most meaningful part of the experience is raising awareness on an issue I'm passionate about and introducing new concepts on how people are impacted by this by talking about dangerous diseases and living conditions.
