Cyni Randle - Global water crisis

reflection: something that stood out to me while learning about the global Water Crisis is the issue of not having clean water is happening in so many places and they aren’t getting help from the government to fix the problem. The people in the town are having to take time out of their busy work daws to collect water just so they and their kids have something to drink. in one of the sections or the website provided for us, they talked about how schools ended up having to take away from learning time to collect water so that the children not only have clean water at school but at home too. I think that even if the places that are dealing with this issue aren’t major cities they should still get some kind of help from the government.

A global water crisis is an environmental science issue. Any global water crisis would be bound to unfairly affect some people. We said environmental justice is making sure all people are involved in making environmental decisions and don’t experience unfair conditions.https://www.canva.com/design/DAE87frjY3U/Zz5sdNp72tK6XdS8JQkJUw/edit

Global Water Crisis Infographic Part II

What stood out to me about these communities without clean water is that many of these communities are less than 30,000 people. So the government doesn’t care about these people. I think the global water crisis is an environmental crisis since the environment is being affected.

Mujahid - Global Water Crisis

Posted by Mujahid Shabazz in Environmental Science · Sasso-Chryst · B on Monday, April 4, 2022 at 10:23 am

The global water crisis is an environmental justice issue because the water can segway into our rivers, lakes, and oceans. We are endangering species, putting our drinking water at risk, and jeopardizing our ability to swim and fish. Climate change is changing weather and water patterns throughout the world, resulting in water shortages and droughts in some areas and floods in others. This scenario will only worsen if consumption continues at its current rate. Two-thirds of the world’s population may confront water scarcity by 2025.

Mujahid - Earthquake

Posted by Mujahid Shabazz in Environmental Science · Sasso-Chryst · B on Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at 1:45 pm

1. How do the earth systems affect each other? Speaking of the effect on earth systems in terms of earthquakes they can lead to other natural disasters like landslides, tsunami’s, etc. Landslides affect the lithosphere and tsunamis affect the hydrosphere. Landslides have an impact on the surface shape of the lithosphere and causes it to change. Tsunami’s have an impact on the hydrosphere because the water becomes polluted. 2. How can an understanding of environmental science aid in handling natural disasters? Having an understanding of environmental science can aid in handling natural disasters because we can begin to limit the negative impact that we have on the earth and all of its systems. We can reduce our pollution, carbon emissions, etc. 3. What efforts can we make to create a sustainable future? We can reduce, reuse, and recycle. We can also begin to reduce our reliance on fossil fuels and reduce our carbon footprint. My Initial Reaction: I was excited to start working on this project because I wanted to learn how and why earthquakes happen.
