Dylan Wright - Natural Disasters

1. How do the earth systems affect each other? The earth systems are locked in an interacting relationship with each other. Changes in one could cause another to change. For example, the geosphere in a certain area could cause only certain kinds of plants to grow there, plants are in the biosphere. this shows a way that the geo and biospheres can affect each other. To take the analogy further, those plants could also be affected by the hydrosphere, as the amount of water in the area could affect their survival. The atmosphere could affect them as well as the temperature of the region could affect the geosphere, the biosphere, and the hydrosphere. 2. How can an understanding of environmental science aid in handling natural disasters? When we understand environmental science, we understand how the earth works. This means that we can understand the causes of natural disasters and when we understand that, we can learn what steps to take to prevent them. We can also learn how to counteract ones that are already in effect. 3. What efforts can we make to create a sustainable future? In order to create a sustainable future, we can cut down on industries that produce greenhouse gasses, such as farming and manufacturing. We can plant more trees to combat deforestation. We can cut down on our use of things like plastic and recycle more. If we do these things, the future will look much brighter than it does now.
