Natural Disasters and Earth System Research

Most tsunamis are caused by earthquakes which causes a sudden movement in the ocean, this creates an abnormally large wave that can wreak havoc on the shore. This is the geosphere interacting with the hydrosphere. The earthquake (geosphere) causes the water (hydrosphere) to behave abnormally. The biosphere does not play a role in creating the tsunami, but it is affected by it. The lives of human beings can be destroyed and they can be displaced. Animals can be affected by the destruction of their habitat.
