Water Crisis Infographic

Something that I really took away from assignment is the importance of water. Water affects ecosystems, environment, and our health. However, water can also affect education and the economy. With no water in schools or no water in general, it can lead kids to drop out to withhold the responsibility for hauling water. Gathering water takes away not only from education but for people to pursue job opportunities. I believe that water is a environmental justice issue because water is a right that all people should have. It's such a necessity that shouldn't be taken away or have to be earned.

Water Crisis

Posted by Alexander Delgado in Environmental Science · Aziz · E on Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at 11:21 pm

During this project I learned a couple of new things about the water crisis around the world and in Philadelphia. I also learned some of the ways people access water during a water crisis, how people are affected by it and some ways in which we can work the situation out. However, it was made clear during this project that a water crisis is definitely an environmental justice issue. As we all know, every organism needs water in order to survive, and due to factors such as global warming and overpopulation, the amount of readily available water is greatly affected. This means that everyone who deals with a water crisis, has a hard time getting water, and it not only affects humans and organisms, but nature. Meaning that a water crisis definitely falls under the category of an environmental justice issue.

Global Water Crisis

Posted by Miki Huang in Environmental Science · Aziz · E on Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at 11:12 pm

While working on this info-graphic something that stood out to me was that even though the United states is kind of big on helping third world countries/ underdeveloped countries in getting clean water for their everyday lives. There are several cities in the united states that do not have clean or safe water to use. Although the government does know about these issues they don't really do anything to make the situation better. I think that the global water crisis is an environmental justice issue because it negatively impacts people of a certain demographic of people due to the decision of the government and them allowing companies to pollute the water or not properly regulating the water quality.

What stood out to me while doing our research was how much unsafe drinking water their is in the world and Philadelphia's water issue. I have never heard a thing about Philadelphia having any issues before so the news was surprising. Global Water Crisis is an environmental justice issue because it’s something that affects us humans and the environment and their should be justice to whatever happens to our water.

Water Crisis

Infograph: https://padlet.com/jbaker192/sqpr1184tyj0 I've always heard that the water crisis around the world was bad but I never understood how bad it really was. It is heartbreaking to see images of what people have to do just to get some water. Reading some of the articles and learning about the state some countries are in makes it seem like there is not much that can be done to solve these problems which is just awful.

The Water Crisis

Posted by Asaad Parsons in Environmental Science · Aziz · E on Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at 9:31 am

https://padlet.com/aparsons19/jjwgpyz2fzrj Something that stood out to me the most is the fact that in certain parts of the earth, there is a shortage of water in that location. I was really surprised to research that water has been depleted more and more over the years and the shortage has a connection to climate change. After doing all of the research, I started to question if the government is going to start shifting their focus on the environment before it becomes a bigger problem in the future.

After researching for this assignment , I have found out some interesting information. I was unaware that their were floods that happen in Houston repetitively. These were not mini one inch floods but reaching over 30 plus inches is kind a terrifying. This is something that is completely out of anyone's hands, that is why  i do not believe that this was an environmental justice because no one did this to the earth it was simply earths actions. Overall this assignment was a cool way to learn about things I have  never hear of before.
