Demo Nianghane Capstone

Posted by Demo Nianghane in Senior Capstone · Aziz · ILP/TFI/CAP on Monday, May 20, 2019 at 6:57 am
For my senior capstone, my friend and I decided to create a collection of poems for young girls. We would have our poems divided into different sections for each stage a heartbroken young girl goes through. We decided to do this because people don't recognize what a lot of young girls go through and they normally end up dealing with everything alone. 11th grade year was when we decided on this idea when it was mentioned by a friend. The process was simple, and the fact that I was actually going through things when I wrote most of these poems helped a lot. What I learned is that most of out experiences are they same so we shouldn't feel uncomfortable talking to each other so that we are not alone. The product turned out great. We created a website to showcase what we accomplished.

My Capstone xoxo

For my capstone, my good friend Haajirah and I decided we would write a bunch of poetry for young girls who are going through things. It was decided 11th grade year while we were talking to a friend. It has sections for each stage girls go through when they are heartbroken. While I was at my lowest, I was hardly able to talk to anyone. Nobody knew how I actually felt because I’m not that good at expressing myself verbally. Instead I started writing poetry, putting all of my feelings in writing. Being as though I was immensely satisfied with the turn out of that, I would encourage other teenage girls who are going through things to also write poetry. Without poetry I was unable to focus on schoolwork and other important things. This caused my grades to slip and nobody deserves to go through what went through. This process has been amazing for me, just knowing that in the end I would contribute to the flourishing of many young girls.

Q4 Benchmark

Posted by Demo Nianghane on Monday, April 15, 2019 at 7:55 am
In our video, we had a support group thing going on. This was to easily show and explain bits and pieces of our topic. We chose to do this topic because we all, or me at least, never really knew how HIV got treated, all the different ways you can contract it, etc. What we did well was relay the information. What could have been better was the videos we shot. The most meaningful part was learning while we get to share an important message.

Blog Post BenchmarkQ3

For this benchmark, my group and I decided that we would study how the brain works during a comatose state. We also looked into a lot of other things  about it. Here are our findings in the slideshow and here is our physical component.

Fast plants final reflection

Posted by Demo Nianghane in Biochemistry 2 Honors on Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at 11:24 pm
The F2 generation did not look how I predicted to look. I thought that they would grow much quicker and look so much better but in the end they grew very slow and not all of them even grew. The parent generation grew faster and more healthy. What hindered our plants  to thrive was the fact that we didn't take as much care of them. We didn't water them as often as you wanted the parent generation so maybe that affected how they grew. Genetics is the greater indicator Because it has the genes of the parents which will be incorporated in the newer plant. During this course, learning about how plants make more plants really interests me.

Biomes

Posted by Demo Nianghane on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at 10:45 am
For this project I studied biomes. The specific biome was a grassland.
I learned about how grasslands are beautiful and because of humans they are facing many problems. Because of urban development, grasslands are being altered and destroyed. One thing I constantly question is how humans even have the heart to destroy a land to be greedy when we have enough, now animals are suffering.

Q4 Project

Posted by Demo Nianghane on Friday, June 2, 2017 at 8:56 am

For Q1 I did the website making project. I made a blog site for people to use when they want to post stuff and/or interact with other people.

For Q2 I decided to do video editing so I could get a view on how my peer felt on the Black Lives Matter Movement.

For Q3 I decided to take a picture of two lions and photoshop flowers on them. This is to

make the lions look prettier. I also made the background more colorful and pretty. I think that all

green jungles and natural stuff looks boring and dull so I decided to make it look better. Some

tools I used on this picture is the cutting tool to cut out the flowers and place them where I

wanted, adjusted the size and the paint can to change my background. Pixlr isn’t really the best

App to use in my opinion. It’s not very reliable and doesn’t look neat. This project inspired me to

do 3D modeling next.

I decided to revise my image editing project. The first one I made looked terrible honestly. The goal was to make the lions look really pretty but they turned out looking like a mess. The revised project, I made it neater and more pink. The process was easy revising it, I didn’t really have to do much because I didn't need to remove the picture. This is because I already had a saved version of the picture without the color.

Some Tips would be to be on time, turn in checkpoints, and read over all project descriptions.

Q2 Video Editing

Posted by Demo Nianghane on Friday, January 27, 2017 at 7:36 am

During my project, I had many ideas in mind and couldn’t decide what I wanted to do. I then sat and thought about it and decided that I might as well make a video that conveys a message.  I recorded many students speaking on the black lives matter movement and police brutality and was able to get many views on the topics. I learned that not all people think the same or look at the same situations the same. I learned how to edit videos very nicely and even add background music. If I were to redo this project I would probably ask more people to get even more opinions on the topics. Using www.wevideo.com was  very helpful and easy to use. It has everything you need out in the open so you won’t get confused.

My Website

Posted by Demo Nianghane in Intro to Design and Multimedia on Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at 1:43 pm

My website is basically a blog page for anything. You can post what you want and stuff. During this project I got stuck a little bit because I couldn’t exactly figure out how I wanted my page to look, what it should be about or what the name should be. After a while I came up with a website where you can just post what you want quickly and that’s How I got the name “quickpost” for my website. After completing the project, I learned how to work and manage website builder . If I were to do this project all over again I would make my homepage make more sense because it’s a little confusing. I’m not really inspired by this project to do anything. I chose the theme first and then I wrote on it, the theme didn’t really change what I had to say.
