For my Project I chose image editing because I wanted to try something new that seemed fun and interesting. I did my project on Photoshop because that a software I hear all the time.  For my project I used two professional sports player that I respect a lot and have the same skin complexion and join the faces into one. Going into this project I didn't know what to expect. I didn't know how much of a challenge it would be. In the end I was not able to complete this project through me having to learn this complicated task while having to complete it. I couldn't right make the skin color one and cut off excess areas I didn't need. Over all I am proud of what I accomplished because of how new this kind of work is to me.
Through this project I learned how to do basic photo shop which I think most people should know especially if you are wanting to own your own business like myself. You will need to created your own logos. This project taught me better patience, problem solving, and how to preform better research since that is all I have been doing anyway.

For my artwork I tried to create something that I would care enough to work on. I decided to paint my indoor soccer shoe with watercolors. The materials I used were my shoe for a reference, a paint brush, watercolors, and a watercolor piece of paper. The shoe was based on the galaxy theme and I tried my best to recreate it. I then for the background continued the galaxy so the background and shoe can complement each other. The colors I used were red, black, white, orange, purple, and blue.

I don’t think I have ever made something as cool as this and a piece of are as good as this. I really tried on this one and loved the outcome. I love soccer and I felt like the color wave of the shoe and having it to do with soccer, would be fun for me to create. I learned how to contract make colors flow and how to take my time and care about your art piece from this assignment. If I were able to do this all again I would change nothing but the colors. I want this piece of art to be a reflection of me as a person who loves soccer and whose talents can possibly take him out of this world.

Reflection Quarter 4 Benchmark

In the video we described the affects the overdosing on over the counter medicine. We also explain what they are and what are their purpose. I learned how sensitive it is to being addicted to over the counter drugs which can easily lead to overdosing. In my participation to the group I created interview questions, did some research, and helped control the interview. The most meaningful part of my PSA I think is letting people know that illegal street drugs are not the only drugs to be aware of. You MUST take over the counter medicine responsibly because the effects of misusing it are deadly. Pharmacists and doctors are the main people who are in this industry. This effects the economy in a negative way because we have to pay for rehabilitation centers and to spend money to try and stop people from abusing it.

For my Senior Capstone this year I have created a project that has to do with what I want to do for the rest of my life, which is chiropractic care. For my project I created a google slide explaining what chiropractic is. I also have a video that is a part of my power point where I perform a chiropractic adjustment. I first palpated the person's spine so I could determine where he needs to be adjusted and then I performed a chiropractic adjustment. I have created this project in hopes to give people more information about chiropractic care, how an adjustment is performed, and to show people how safe it really is. Hopefully though this project people will stop being scared and know that this medicine free treatment works and changes lives safely. I want to get chiropractic more known because surgery should be the very last resort. Saying this most people pick surgery because the doctors say it and the patients no nothing about chiropractic and how effective it can actually be. Since this is what I really am dedicated on making this to be my future career I want this to be known so I can get more clients, help more people, and get more money.

I learned that a lot of times when you are diagnosed with epilepsy it is because of at least two  unprovoked seizures. Seizures directly mess with our memories but messing up the hippocampus. One of the main wanderings I have is how they can diagnose you with epilepsy through blood tests. How does with give you a low sperm count.

Q 1 Project

Jordon Gillies

In my art work I drew a self portrait of myself. I love to work out so in the middle of the portrait I drew myself with a nice lean body. I am not colored in because people are not really sure what ethnicity I am,  so I left mine colorless. If you look into my eyes they are faded and this is because I’m blind in seeing my competition. If the odds are against me I don’t care because I have faith in my ability. I have waves for a hairstyle and they are deep and all over the place so that's how I drew them in the picture. I have myself thinking about a soccer ball, because soccer is my passion. In the top left corner above my head I drew a soccer net and the 18 yard box because I am a striker who scores the goals. In the low half on the right side next to me I drew UFC fight gloves. This is because I love to watch the UFC which is mixed martial arts and I also do  martial arts myself. Pretty much perpendicular on the left side I drew wrestling shoes because I love to wrestle and am good at it. Above the UFC gloves is a drawing of a spine and pelvis. I drew this because I want to be a chiropractor when I grow up. I love people's reactions when I give them an adjustment. In the background I have the U.S. flag fading away because I use to be a patriot and wanted to be a Navy SEAL. I loved this country but stopped and feel like the U.S has been falling apart since Trump became president. Racist are more open to come out and we are going to war with ourselves again after we have been doing good.

For this project I used pencils, color pencils, markers, shading pencils, and a thin pen. I started off thinking about what I love and what I want my drawing to mean. I used all these items before except for the shading that was new for me.  A certain technique is to have something to look at and go from there. A new technique is to  draw shapes when drawing things to make a finished product. I am most proud of the finished product of my work. It is exactly what I thought it would look like and I can say that's a first for me. Usually I imagine something and it's nothing like what I thought it would turn out to be. If I could change anything it would be more detail in the flag. I feel like I could have done better with that. In conclusion I did this is a good project in my opinion. I learned that art is not as hard as I thought. It is about being consistent and caring about what it looks like.

Q 4 Project

Posted by Jordon Gillies in Intro to Design and Multmiedia on Friday, May 26, 2017 at 11:31 am
  • A description of the project you chose to revise, why you chose it, and the process you went through revising it

I chose to revise my CodeHS project.I chose this project because I knew that when I was doing this project before it was incomplete. The process I followed to revise it was to do level 11 which I did not complete. To complete level 11 I had to create If/else statements. An If/else statement is to do something if the condition is true or do something else if it is false.

  • An overview of each of your project from each quarter including visuals

    • The project type

    • The overall vision and goal(s) of the project

    • Was the project successful? Why? Why not?

In my Q 1 project I created a website that includes information about me, my accomplishments, and a resume. This project was successful except for my resume because I still need to build on that. My goals were to make anyone who is reading about me learn who I am in the shortest and the most easy time possible.

For my Q2 project I went on CodeHS and learned how to code. I went through different lessons that went the the foundations of coding. My goals was to finish all lessons but, only got to lesson 10. I feel as though the project was successful because I learned a ton but wasn't because I didn’t finish all the lessons.

For my Q3 project I created a game which I had to use the foundations of coding. My goal was to create a game and show people what I did and how to play it. This project was a failure because I hit the power cord and I lost everything and had to start all over. I didn’t have enough time to redo it and my game was incomplete.

For my revision project I had to make a revision on one of my projects and I chose codeHS. My goal was to complete lesson 11. It was a success because I did complete it. I had more than enough time to complete it which helped me get it done.

  • My high point of the course was Coding. Using Codehs made it fun for me and made me interested in coding.

  • My growth is from coding. Through coding there is many challenges you will encounter but there is a way around it. I learned that if I want it bad enough I can overcome anything.

  • This helped me consider coding as a profession. It is a job demanding job. People want it and not a lot of people do it.

  • Next year I would build something with code.

  • Stay on top of your work

  • Go to class

  • Follow directions

Game Maker

Posted by Jordon Gillies in Intro to Design and Multmiedia on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at 8:57 pm

For my project I created a game on a website Game Maker. I hoped to learn how to create the foundations of a videogame.

I completed each step to create a game starting from a sprite which is the character. I encountered a failure because the computer shut down when I was almost done my project and I lost all my stuff. I had to restart all over again. To overcome this problem I just did my project on creating a sprite, which is a character that you can control in the game.

I learned a lot through the creation of this project. I learned the basic structures of how to create a game. I learned how to be a better problem solver because I definitely came across a lot of problems.  I learned creating a little game is not as difficult as one might think.

I learned some things about myself also while doing this project. I learned that if I’m determined about completing something then it will get done. I learned that I really do like coding and creating games and I might consider going into that field.

If I could do this project differently I would've created the whole game and submitted me playing it. I would also have just created a game with more detail than what I have planned, but I don't know how that would've worked out with  me meeting the checkpoints.

Some tips for people using game maker is to go on youtube for help. There is excellent on there. I really want to do a game in more detail after doing this project. With multiple sprites and colors, with missions.

This game helped me explain that creating a basic game is possible for someone my age in just a few weeks. I would have been able to do it if I didn’t run into the problem I had. If I can do it anyone my age can do it. It's not hard at all.

Computer Science Project

I did my project on Code HS, where I had to give this dog named Karel commands to do things with different levels. Some examples of the commands were I had to tell him to pick up and put down balls, move, turn right and turn left. This gave me many challenges which I wanted to give up because I felt stuck many times. This website though has taught me to be patient and find the little mistakes. It showed that coding takes time and you will have to restart your whole code often. If you make the simplest mistake like not indenting something or putting a ; it will mess up your whole code and it wont work. Its frustrating but the satisfaction of the success when you complete the code is worth it. Coding is everywhere in this world since we are now a technological world and everything is dependent on technology. But everything is about technology is stupid without a code from a human built into it. Without people knowing how to code we wouldn't have game consoles, computers, etc. If anyone else wanted to do this project I would tell them to go for it but have a lot of patience and concentration.

In my website I wanted to create something that people could just go on and find things about me without many questions, and which was easy to navigate. First I created a Home page that talked about that talked what will be seen in my website. Secondly I wrote an about me page which I tell things about me and what I like. On the next page I wrote about my resume which is stuff I did in my life and my extracurricular actives. I have a portfolio with one of my projects. At the end I have my contact information so people can contact me. Through this project I learned that you can never give too much information about yourself if peopler looking for information about. I have also leaned how to put a well organized website together.

Tips for Teenagers: Abdul, Jordon, and Migdalia

Posted by Jordon Gillies in ENGLISH 1 - Zeller - D on Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at 7:55 am

Based on the I-Search papers that we completed on teenage development, here are some tips for teenagers to help them be happier and to help them develop in positive ways.

  1. For kids with parents whose words influence them in a negative way: First accept that your parents are here to show you a better path and right now they’re just angry. Remember that there are teens out there who are going through the same thing, you're not alone. Try and surround yourself with people who embrace the positive in you and frequently know that you are a positive person in their life. Finally remember that you can change the way your parents think about you. Take it one step at a time and have conversations, compromise and come to a consensus with your parents.(Migdalia)

  2. Kids who feel like their parents are living through themand are applying to much pressure the best thing for them to do is for them to talk to their parent. If they feel like the pace their parents are pushing them to is too fast they should express their true feelings.Them doing so would make it easier for the parents to understand your feelings and so they can see how they are affecting you and see the error in their ways.

  3. Kids don’t need to fit in but it’s natural to. It is natural for you to try fit in because its a healthy way to grow up. It allows you to view different things that you enjoy and help you decide the career options that you enjoy. When teens can’t fit in then they feel that they are not special and that they are worth nothing.

I chose this topic the, richest soccer players because I love soccer. It's my life and I would like to know who gets paid the most for playing it. All of these players I know(not personally) and agree with how much accept for two Ronaldo and Messi. Messi beat more world records then Ronaldo.

I chose this picture because you don't know what a person is going through. So when the're with you it could be an act. So be careful of what you say to a person online and real life.
