I wanted to make it more teen based because I felt like not a lot of teen have representation, especially POC. The idea was a podcast because I feel like as humans we don’t know how to communicate. It is always assuming that we know what others want from us. I think that is a reason why our issues have not been solved. I want to touch people in a way that they have never been touched before. I know that the only challenge is getting people to engage. I see that because we undermine mental health and recovery, we are stuck in the mindset of shaming and feeling embarrassed. It is not something that you shouldn’t be proud of. https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1gxNrSjXDHtpkXPXq0H1zrdbm_2xVUfP22TYuYsnHo4A/edit
In our video, we talked about how communities of low income go through a lot of heat exhaustion. We are trying to show that there are resources for this issue. I actually know about a lot of people I know whose parents aren’t able to afford AC which is baffling because I am so privileged to be able to have that. I think I did well in the acting part. That was definitely my favorite part also. I felt like I could improve on the research portion. I felt like I could’ve gotten more information and maybe added it to the video. The most meaningful part was recording with my group. It felt like we were so passionate so it was less scripted.
