Tyrone Hart Capstone

Posted by Tyrone Hart in Senior Capstone · Turoff · ILP/TFI/CAP on Friday, May 18, 2018 at 11:23 pm

The greatest thing about having a senior project is that you have one final product to remember yourself and what you brought to your school community. Ever senior has a story, and this project gives them the opportunity to express their opinions of what the perfect project consists of. In my opinion, the best thing I could do with my capstone is written about my high school experience, because I am a very deep thinker and love self-reflection. I get to see how much I’ve grown as a student and formulate an idea of who I want to be as a college student. In my writings I began by discussing my life before SLA and my expectations for school, then I transitioned into my freshman, sophomore, and junior years. Throughout my story, I stop at certain points and acknowledge the lessons I’ve learned in the process. My senior year is formatted a little differently. I started off with my expectations and ended with a summary of all my thoughts on high school and the role I believe experiencing high school will have on my future. During this process, I changed my ideas of conducting my project many times, but overall, I am really proud of my work.

Q2 Benchmark: Video and Reflection

Posted by Tyrone Hart in Environmental Science · Aziz · C on Friday, January 19, 2018 at 5:33 pm
Below is the link to our video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9vlnICQPftc

In our video, the main topic of focus was environmental justice and how littering has it’s effect on the community. We acknowledged littering as a problem in society and gave a lesson on what littering does to a city, specifically the inter-cities vs. suburban areas. We chose this topic because we feel as though litter isn’t taken as seriously as it should be, and the effect it has on communities is much bigger than it’s currently made out to be.

I played the lead role in our video, as I was the man who taught the lesson on litter. I also wrote a chunk of the script, and created most of the ideas used in our video. I communicated well with my group and took care of everything needed from me.
We conveyed our knowledge of litter and it's effect on the environment very well in my opinion, and we always did a good job of utilizing class time to our advantage. However if there were anything that I could do differently to improve this project, it would probably be to wear better attire in the videos, so I could look more professional.
The most meaningful part of this experience has been learning more about litter. I know I for one take litter for granted, and just throw my trash anywhere but doing research and creating a video on this topic really opened my eyes to the importance of taking good care of the environment.

Reflection - Tyrone
What stood out to me in the process of doing this info-graphic has been learning more about lead itself and the effects it has on the environment. Coming into this assignment, I didn't know much on lead nor take it as serious, but I've learned that lead can have more of a direct impact on me than I thought. All my questions on lead have been answered, now it's just about doing what is necessary to resolve this issue.

Natural Disasters and Earth System Research

Posted by Tyrone Hart in Environmental Science · Aziz · C on Monday, September 18, 2017 at 10:16 am

Identification of Roles

Natural Disasters occur because of movements or changes within some of the Earth's systems. These systems include:

Biosphere ~ the regions of the surface, atmosphere, and hydrosphere of the earth (or analogous parts of other planets) occupied by living organisms.

Cryosphere ~ Is the frozen water part of the Earth system. Beaufort sea and North Alaska. The one part of Cryosphere is the ice that is found in the water which includes frozen parts of the ocean that surrounds Antarctica and the Arctic.

Hydrosphere ~ Hydrosphere is all of the waters on the Earth’s surface (Oceans, Lakes, etc.); including water above the surface, like in clouds. The connection Hydrosphere has with hurricanes, is the formation of them. Hurricanes start with storms over the

Atmosphere ~ The blanket of gas on the surface of a planet or satellite. The atmosphere of the Earth is about 80% nitrogen and 20% oxygen. Natural disasters include tornadoes and severe storms.

Geo-sphere ~ Any of the almost spherical concentric regions of matter that make up the earth and its atmosphere, as the lithosphere and hydrosphere. Natural disasters include volcanic eruptions and earthquakes.

Reflection

The earth's systems affect each other in somewhat of a domino effect. I say this because for example, a natural disaster that forms in the Atmosphere or the Hydrosphere can have a major effect on the Geosphere, possibly creating enough to cause harm to living organisms in the Biosphere. An understanding of environmental science help in natural disasters because although we can’t stop natural disasters from occurring, we can prepare for them, especially with our advancements in meteorology and forecasting natural disasters such as hurricanes. The efforts we can make to create a better future is helping those are in need of it most, and understanding that if we all pitch in, we can make recovery easier.

Classroom Re-Engineering: More Cleaning Products

Posted by Tyrone Hart in ENGINEERING 2 - Rae-Grant - y1 on Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at 11:22 pm
For my "Classroom Re-Engineering" project, I chose to work with Tajanae on more cleaning products for the classroom. Now although there are some types of sanitizers, wipes and napkins we have access to in the classroom, you can never have too many. Even though this would be a minor improvement to the classroom, it could go a long way. For example, if someone spills a drink on the floor but can't find a napkin to clean, the drink become sticky and can develop into a permanent or stain that's very hard to get out the floor. I feel as though getting something like more cleaning products would help because they would show signs of cleanliness in our school. Below are a couple specific products.

Fashion:

Gracias Tyrone. Buenas tardes a todos,Que pum? si tu eres en la  modo like myself, make sure that when you’re shopping again you get a pair of the classic Nike cortez, you know those never get out of style, and white socks to go with them, not ankle sock, those never go good together with Cortez’s. You have to get straight or skinny jeans, some will prefer shorts, that’s cool too, but the Jeans will sit on the shoes more. Long line tee’s are getting real common now for males, especially the ones with the zippers at the sides. Females are also liking the sun dresses with sneakers even a crop top and a long skirt can work, I think it is very attractive too, but let’s not go there. If you’re a female and you want your style to be up to date shop at forever21 too, I heard that is the go to place for the females, they have reasonable prices and nice outfits that looks like designer.

By the way Footlocker is having a huge sale today, 50% off of a pair of sneakers over $120. Hollister is also having a huge sale on male and female apparel.

Gracias Tyrone.

Anchor 1: Gracias Nathan, yo voy a ir a foot locker a consigo Jordánes. Now onto Domenick with some breaking news!

Ah hombre, eso es muy interesante. Me pregunto si ahí estoy cualquier otro estudiantes que de este camino. Ahora a Domenick con el reciente noticias!

There are two U.S. Navy boats that have been detained by Iran, with ten U.S. sailors on board. It has been reported that Iran will “promptly” return the U.S. crew. The two boats lost communication with the Pentagon on Tuesday, as they traveled between Kuwait and Bahrain. It is not clear as to why the boat was seized, but according to NBC News the boats were there for a training mission when one started to have problems and may have drifted into Iranian territory. A strike group from USS Harry S. tried to help the crew but were stopped when the sailor were captured. Some of this information may be sketchy as this is breaking news, we will keep you updated as we know more.

¡Guau! eso es muy loco! Yo espero que todos está bien y buenos deseos a la familia. Desde nosotros aquí en Hazlo canal, Hazlo apagó.

Reflection:
The project was very difficult and time consuming, but I had a lot of fun recording and writing my part. We had to write on the concepts of clothing, the body, verbs, feelings, pronouns, basic conversation, adjectives, ser and estar (to be or not to be) and prepositions. That is a lot to include into one project, so to do well we had to make and meet certain deadlines with ourselves in order to get everything done early enough to not have to worry the day the project was due. The project was a lot of fun and helped me get a better understanding of how to conjugate what I write.

1. What are your goals in life? “Just to be me, I really can’t tell right now. Everyone wants to be a star, and I want to be a star at whatever I do.”

2. If you could describe yourself in one word, what would it be? “Fantastic! I know everyone doesn’t think that, but that’s just their opinion. As long as i think I am and some other I’m Fantastic!”

3. What has been your happiest moment so far in your life? “ Umm Probably just meeting new people is the happiest moments. I moved to Philadelphia 4 years ago and it was pretty hard to make friends, but once I did living in Philadelphia has gotten better and better.”

Tyrone Hart's Infographic West Stream

What I hope people will learn from infographic is that even the best athletes can have good educations, as you can see how Stephen Curry graduated from Davidson. I also hope people learn that Stephen Curry is a very good shooter because he holds a record. And lastly, I hope people learn basketball creates bonds to, such as when Steph'ens dad (Dell Curry) played in the NBA before Stephen did.

How this picture relates to the book is that the quote says "You can't based a reputation based on what you're going to do." meaning that you have to actually do it, not say you will and expect a reputation. The only reputation you'll get is someone who never keeps their word and/or lives up to what they say they'll do. Like how in the book when Nicole sent that video totally dissing Asians, she apologized saying she will be a better person, but until she shows how she is being a better person, she will forever be thought of as mean and racist.
