Throughout the process of the Quarter 4 benchmark, I worked diligently as a member of the Power, Pumps, and Pipes team. However, my specific roles were a Chemical Recorder as well as Poster and Presentation Researcher. I worked with Bella, Gianna, Spider, and Emily to meet the expectations of the tasks that were due. For example, Bella and I worked together to test ammonia within our system's water, Gianna, Spider, and I worked on the digital presentation slideshow, and I assisted Emily with outlining the final poster.

Additionally, what I learned from the class blog was that this was truly a team effort. Everyone on each team had a responsibility and primarily maintained whatever that single responsibility was. Furthermore, I learned that an aquaponics system requires so much for it to be successful. The fish must be happy, the plants must grow, the battery for the system must work, and so much more!

Q4 Aquaponics System

Our group had to stay on top of things every class, communicate with one another, and thank god we picked groups. I helped with some of the documents, the poster, the slideshow, and did honestly whatever I could to help my group. This project was different due to how many group members we had, but I liked it and from that I learned how to work with even more people better. Another thing I learned while working with this group was that picking groups and picking wisely always benefits you in the end.

My job was to make sure to watch videos to show how the water should flow, test the water and make sure that it’s flowing correctly. This meant me doing research on allowing water to travel throughout the system it self efficiently.Another part of my job was to build the shelf for the tank and make the plants available to water at all times. This part took time and thought to figure out how we wanted it to look like.

Aquaponic System

My responsibility in the group was to choose the plants, grow the plants and create the poster for our Aquaponic System. While working on this project, I was able to grasp the true idea of an aquaponic system and how fish and plants can correlate together and help one another survive. This project has taught me how to work with a big team and how to manage time.

My team was the plants, grow bed. lights, and structure which means we were in charge of how the system was going to look and work together. Specifically, I was the project manager which meant I overseen everything but also contributed everywhere I could. I did most of the documents, helped construct the growth bed, helped transferring the plants to the fish tank, and most of all made sure everyone was on track. During this project, I learned how to create such an intricate system and filter a fish tank while being eco friendly.

Magazine : https://www.tinyurl.com/Slalaunchpad1 Instruction Manual : https://tinyurl.com/Slabiomanual I focused mainly on the publishing and editing the magazine along with adding a layer of polish to make the scenes and pages a professional looking final product. I kept the info organized and good for the eyes.

This is the link for the instruction manual https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Mqn4v3W9OgJ5os-Hqucb4CV9PQ53NHOKbA2Mo0SHAEo/edit?usp=sharing This is the link for the magazine https://www.tinyurl.com/Slalaunchpad1 What I did for the benchmark was to help Amiri with the magazine. I also gave Amirir my computer when he needs to edit the document in a certain way. The other thing I helped with was the editing of the documents. What I learned is how to make an aquaponics system. I also learned how to construct a magazine in a way that is effective in giving information to people. The other thing I learned is how important it is to get work done on time so that it's effective for my teammates.

Here is the link to the instruction manual https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Mqn4v3W9OgJ5os-Hqucb4CV9PQ53NHOKbA2Mo0SHAEo/edit?usp=sharing Here is the link to the magazine https://www.tinyurl.com/Slalaunchpad1 The thing that I did for the Benchmark was being the editor and just helping people out when it came to the instruction manual. The thing that I learned is how to make an Aquaponics system because I helped make the instructions now I know how Aquaponics systems are made. I also learned about how to help my team by editing the documents and fixing their grammar.

What I learned over the course of this benchmark is how to make an effective magazine that gives information in an effective way. The other thing I learned is how to make an aquaponics system from taking from the instruction manual. I also learned how to ask other people about what they are doing with the project.

This is the link for the instruction manual. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Mqn4v3W9OgJ5os-Hqucb4CV9PQ53NHOKbA2Mo0SHAEo/edit?usp=sharing This is the link for the magazine. https://www.tinyurl.com/Slalaunchpad1. I had two jobs throughout this project. I was the chemical recorder. The chemical I tested was Nitrite -02. Most of the results I got with this chemical were the same they didn't really do anything to the water. The other job I had was to work on art in the magazine. We worked on some art all week, but it didn't make the final cut. I learned that no matter how small my job was, It all mattered in the end.
