Reflection:

Through doing this benchmark I learned a lot about the nervous system and how diseases like ALS can impact it. I attained a very in-depth understanding of how the body controls movement using a flow of motor neurons in the central nervous system, and I learned why neurodegenerative diseases such as ALS are so serious because of how difficult they are to cure/reverse. I wonder what the cure for ALS will look like when it's finally discovered, and what the cause of ALS is for those who do not inherit it as that has not yet been figured out.

Doing this project taught me a lot about the brain  and how it is related to stress. I feel like I am the type of person that stresses a lot and this topic was just the right one for me. In researching about "Stress" I learned the reason for why I stress, way to control it and things I can do to help me when I am feeling stressed. As I women I learned about the connections my brain and my mention cycle has, and I feel like I project will help out many people that is in the stages of stress

This project taught me a lot about what alcohol can do to the body. I learned certain things that alcohol does to your brain and and it makes sense because those effects are what make people drunk. In conclusion, this project made sense of an interesting topic I didn't really know much about.

CNS Benchmark By: Haniah Jones

Reflection: After completing this project, I can honestly say that I learned a lot outside of just what Ms. Aziz taught us. I obviously learned about comas and how they are triggered and what's happening in the CNS. But I also came across some new terminology that I have never heard of before. For example  inhibitory versus excitatory  I am sad to say that there is still no cure for comas and that neurologists still don't know how to break them.

Reflection:  As a group, we learned about when the brain is under stress. The Hypothalamus (memory center) and the Pituitary gland (hormone center)  are the two major regions of the brain which are related to stress. The hormones that produce stress are adrenaline and cortisol. The adrenal glands produce cortisol. When under stress the body overproduces cortisol. When highly stressed or depressed, the other regions of the brain experience lower activity, while the regions related to regulating stress flare-up inactivity.

Wonder? I wonder can some antidepressant medications cause someone more depression and stress?

This project was so interesting. And I consider it to be the most interesting project I have ever enjoyed working on it. Learning new facts about one of the fundamental which is related to learning od how we learn. the chemical and biological ( anatomical and physiological) processes that take place in the processes of learning. https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1I2L6WjA7rhmkA54ipyiHdjxlwErvAxFMpvqFy9Hf0ak/edit?usp=sharing

Reflection:
Going into this project I have learned a lot about how the obesity affects our nervous system, but what stood out to me the most is how the amount of food you consume can change based on the level of opioid that is released into the body can change as you gain weight.
