André Thomas Capstone Project 2018
My project was initially inspired by the wish that a family member of mine would have lived to see what I would make of my life. Obviously, as they did not this will never happen, but in a sort of “dedicated to you” project, I wanted to summarize what I've been through in high school and where I would be headed. However, that concept proved to be difficult so I only finished 2 songs that relate to that, one is still in the production phase. The 2 I've posted here are simple cuts produced and written by myself that showcase the material I will continue to make. Although 2 songs are done I will eventually complete the other 3 included in my initial goal.
The major challenges here were creating the music itself, resources aside, making even decent music is tedious and can be very frustrating so I expected that making something worthy of presentation will be about 2 times more difficult. Thankfully, I had support in the form of some out-of-school help at the Village of Arts & Humanities, as well as some minor experience crafting my own work so it kept the creative process fun and exciting even when it was frustrating.
