Mine Turtle
I decided to make a project in the 3D sculpture category because it’s a medium that I’ve never really tried out before and I wanted to broaden my horizons. This particular piece was me wanting to make a character from a web series I watch named mine turtle. I think it mainly shows that when you make art it doesn't have to be perfect but it must have meaning. I think the main thing I took away from this is how to work with aluminum safely and well. This specific piece is like nothing I’ve done before, I have always been a fan of painting so sculpting was a big step away from that. I was trying to make it like the figures of vehicles made from soda cans that have been really popular lately. I made this by cutting up pieces of aluminum seltzer cans and hot glueing them to each other, while it was difficult it worked well with a little extra effort. This piece isn’t really meant to make anyone feel any specific feeling just to let them see a fun little project that I had fun making. Overall it was a fun project that was somewhat difficult but ended up nicer than I thought it would.
Mixed Medium Lake
I chose this project because I liked that it gave me the freedom to make any kind of artwork that I chose to do and mesh it with other mediums. I decided to make a painting of a mountain lake with a 3D canoe floating in the water. I would hope that my work would give its audience a stress-free relaxing feeling like they were on a summer vacation in the mountains. It really has to do a lot with me too because of how often I go camping in the mountains. This is my first piece that incorporates wood carving and I am really proud that I was able to pull it off. I think that this piece could fit into Philly’s street art scene, at first glance it may not seem like it but it takes elements from artists like Aubrie Costello and Low Level who inspire me with their use of 3D objects in their installs. I hope that this piece can impact the world with driving more people to decide to take up art and I really hope that it does.
Color Wheel Project
I chose to make this because I wanted to further my understanding and use of colors. I wanted to make the project focused more on the colors than a design so I used up all of my available space. I expect the audience to think that it’s a basic practice color wheel so that I can become a better artist by trying new things and just making things. It fits in with contemporary art because it uses a sorts of colors and looks slick and modern. This fits in with art history because it shows how you need to practice with art as much as possible to be good.
I was influenced by an artist named Jason Polan because he uses very simplistic designs that look intentionally sloppy. Making the piece look sloppy is helpful because it allows me to show that perfect art doesn’t exist and allows me to remember not to get too caught up in making things look perfect. I experimented with intentionally messing up and not fixing it, I found this very helpful and I see myself doing so in the future. I really enjoyed making this color wheel and look forward to using the techniques and colors I learned while making this to help further my future work.

The Internet And You
- On my first slide I was trying to show some of the possibilities from using the internet, both good and bad, and some of the consequences from them, like getting or losing a job or becoming a target for bullies or hackers.
- On the second slide I Showed how your actions can affect someone like make them happy, you can hinder them, and how you could be the difference between a nice and miserable day.
- My one rule for using the internet was not to use it for anything without thinking.
