How do the earth systems affect each other?
The earth systems help the planet carry out important missions it needs to provide sustainability for all life that lives on it. If one is out of whack then all the systems could fail.

How can an understanding of environmental science aid in handling natural disasters?

We can learn how bad disasters are and try to think of ways to help.

What efforts can we make to create a sustainable future?

We have to have more than people change their habits we need everyone and everything to change their habits in order to make a big enough change.

1. How do the earth systems affect each other?
All of earths systems work together as one system, all systems have to work together or there won't be any.
2. How can an understanding of environmental science aid in handling natural disasters?
It can tell us Why things are happening and what we can do to prevent it without causing more problems.
3. What efforts can we make to create a sustainable future?
We can cut our C02 emissions by more than half and erase the material plastic from the face of the world. Start cleaning our #1 source water and air so we can live healthy

Quarter 4 benchmark

Posted by Indigo Burton in Art 2 · Hertz · C1 on Saturday, May 26, 2018 at 12:07 pm

I created a 1 of 1 jean jacket piece inspired by my artist who uses fabrics in her art. It was originally a black denim jacket with no coloring. Now it has a distressed collar and a flower design going over the arm and back of the jacket. I want the work to communicate several things like where you can find creativity. I used a pair of red shorts to create flowers on the jacket and I never thought I would be able to do that but my artist was able to help me see deeper than what was in front of me. I used a sewing machine for most of the project and scissors to cut up the materials. All of the jacket was done pretty much by hand. Using certain techniques is important because you want to be able to do your best on the product and clothes cost money. I learned that finding a piece of work that looks kind of similar to what your final product should look like helps guide you through the creating process.

I’m really proud of myself being able to create a denim jacket with my own taste on it for the first time. I think I also found a new passion through this project so I’m really happy I did this and chose the artist I did. Now if there was one thing I would change it would be the amount of gold I put on the jacket I feel like I could of done more to make the jacket even more unique.

Throughout this project I have learned how to use my creative eye to create a one of one piece that I can wear. I’ve improved my sewing skills and learned some techniques for sewing on the way.

For my art project I 3D printed a mold of a hand that was a little smaller than the human hand then I took wire and wrapped it around the hand to resemble rings and designs on the hand. I wanted to show the viewer how I could use open space and abstract designs to make a piece of art. I painted the hand half way to resemble an actual hand but left part of it blue just for aesthetics. I don’t think I would of done anything differently during this project except for my time management because I lacked on the checkpoints. During this project I learned how to use the 3D printer and the importance of contrasting colors. I’ve never made anything like this before so this was a completely new experience for me.

My project resembles a digital preview of my life and people in my life. It starts off with a white blue and black theme to get people interested in the over all layout of the website. The goal and image I was trying to portray with my project would be a glimpse into my life, showing you things i’ve done and adding some cool elements along the way. I started this project by picking a template from weebly and completely re doing it with my own touch. I added pictures of me and paragraphs explaining each page and its subject. I didn’t have any failures but I did have a success with creating an overall theme in the website that appealed to readers.Since my last attempt at making a website I think I really got the simplicity of a website down so that it doesn’t seem like too much. Through making this project I learned about privacy and not everything about you needs to be on the internet. For example I put my address and a lot of information on my website but it was just too much so I went back and make it less personable. If I could do it over I would use more pictures to go with my statements and more content on each page. For anyone just making this project I would advise having a theme because everything looks better and a layout isn’t needed just go with the flow when making the website sometimes that's the best. After doing this project i'm inspired to make more websites and express myself on different platforms. I now want to make a website for my music and fashion career in the future so that I stand out.

Q1 Portrait Project

"Thought"
"Thought"
This picture features a portrait of me and the things I love and like around me. It starts off with my disfigured face in the middle of the paper. I filled out my lips the most here to focus on the meaning of communication and words and I also made a single eye bigger than the face to represent the future and the mindset I have in life. I made sure the body and head colors were true to real life so that the viewer could understand what I was trying to draw. Directly to the right of the head there is a series of music notes which represent my love for music and my passion for music. I made sure to run the vision rays coming through my eyes through the music note to show my focus on music. Then directly above the head is my brain which is outside of the head to represent out of the box thoughts and the bubbles are thoughts forming and flowing through the air or my mind. Everything in the picture ends up in a puddle that takes up the majority of the bottom half. This puddle is supposed to be me and everything that amounts to me.

I decided to use color pencils in order to outline the little things with great detail. I used lots of random figures and out of the box ideas to represent my portrait which could only be described to be similar to the work of Pablo Picasso. I think our elements and abstract mindsets are very similar when it comes to our pictures. From the time I started this project to the time I finished I learned to just go with the flow, ideas will keep flowing and spilling on the paper as you go. I’ve been very proud of my great amount of detail and thought but I would love to change the colors so that the idea was better represented.

In all, I've learned how to start my work in the most efficient way while also being able to represent current thoughts along with accurate representations.

My 6 line poem "Leaders lead, followers follow I lead" connects to my picture because its a representation of my room and i'm the leader in this. I've always been told to lead and never follow because you'll make all the same mistakes as others and never be special. Every time I make an important decision I think of how I can be different either clothes school mind whatever. I love being my self and different from the rest its what gives you the reality of what is going on around you.

Art project

I chose the shoe as my project because one of my all my favorite things to do is collect shoes. I love jordans nikes and adidas the most. This is one of the first basketball shoes i’ve ever had and I never scuffed them because I was scared to.

I chose wire set up I did because in the end it would have the best look on the shoe and it would still be bright. I chose 5 bulbs on each lace side then a wire to connect both ends so they would be bright. I twisted all the wires to let the current flow.

Street Art

Posted by Indigo Burton in ART 9 - Hertz - a2 on Thursday, June 2, 2016 at 11:59 am
I've been intrigued by street art for some time now wondering if it was vandalism or art that meant something. My friends became interested too so we explored the internet in search for answers. We found that snod was a local street artist that liked to put inspirational quotes in his drawings. I then wanted to have a face of my own and that's how this picture came along. I decided I wanted it above eye sight so people would have to look up and really look at what I had there instead of it being some kind of vandalism. Since I've done this project I've realized that there is so much art on the streets that ivebeen missing

The internet and you

Posted by Indigo Burton in TECH 1 - Hertz - a1 on Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at 9:48 am
Slide 1: The first slide is dominoes which represents when ever I do something online it could effect me in the long run if its good or bad. The dominoes are the changes that could happen at anytime to my life. In conclusion this shows how my online choices effect me by showing the domino effect( changes in my life).

Slide 2: This image shows a an looking up at the sky one side bad one side good(his options). If he chooses the red side he could impact the lives of other negatively by harassing or bullying them. If he chooses the green/ blue side he could impact their lives positively and make their day better. This shows how decisions I make effect others by showing that I have options and if i choose to take advantage of them I could impact someones life with a bad or good intention.

slide 3: This is a slide of a thinking statue. This is my most important rule, think about what you are going to do and post online before you do it. If you are mad you make the wrong decision and ruin somebody's life or your own life and all because you are mad. Think before you do something to save both you and somebody else's  life.

Slide 4: This slide is  picture of communication which is very important when it comes to posting. When you want to post something or you get mad tell somebody and talk about it. If you talk about it, it could save you just like my first rule. So always remember you talk and think about what your next move is going to be online.

Indigo's Social Media Survival Guide

Posted by Indigo Burton in TECH 1 - Hertz - a1 on Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at 10:29 am

Indigo

Who are you online, how do you appear ?

I am Indigo and online I am just normal I  don't post anything inappropriate or rude. I think I appear a little weird and shy because I don’t take pictures like everybody else. Some people may think the things I look at are a bit strange.

How do you think people perceive you, based on this appearance?

I think people perceive me as kind of normal but weird and shy and a little emotional. I like a lot of weird things on instagram and vine. I could come off a little rood from some comments I make

What do you consider before posting anything online?

Whether or not people will like the picture or post or if they will find it funny. If it hurts any of my followers and who will see it

What are the pros and cons of sharing online?

Pros: People may like it will share it and everyone can see what u find funny, All ur friends know what ur up to

Cons: People may get offended  or the wrong people might see it

Explain how Lack of Control, Permanence and Immediacy have an impact on our online lives?

Well people could take what you do online in an offensive way. That could ruin your life if it gets shared a lot. You could also just have the wrong people seeing what you want and that could kill your reputation as well.
